22 euro menu. Scallop starter pleasant enough. Entrecôte was lamentable. 30% gristle. The remainder was almost inedible. I had ordered a point (medium rare) but it was grey and too tough to chew. They offered another and, when I declined, they took 3.50 euros off the bill. Good dessert.

Good value, good food and nice people....a sea change for many eateries in this part of Cognac. Many lcoals use it for lunch so this guarantees that lunch with wine is a worthwhile experience. Evening meals just as good too. Located just down the road from the roundabout Francois I and the many tourist restaurants this one will not disappoint.

Very pleasant evening, great food, good service, whats not to like? We had, what worked out to be a 3.5 course meal, for two, with water and wine, for lesx than €60. The food was all, very well cooked and well presented. Very good choice, shame its not open on a sunday evening, or we wouldbe back for a return... More

We had a very nice evening in Le Cellier. The waitress was very helpful and sympathetic to our attempts at French! It was very quiet, though but that may have been the weather and the time of year.

We visited on a Monday evening in Feb. it was packed. One girl worked the front of the house very efficiently. The food was superb, we had the snail and ham dish as a starter, really yummy. I had the kidneys in parsley sauce and my wife the entrecôte with pepper sauce. Both were really brilliant. Great value for money.... More

Restaurant very clean and airy. Staff friendly. There was an "A la carte" menu but, as it was our main meal of the day, we opted for the "menu du jour" which was available in the evenings as well as lunchtimes. However, we were disappointed. The food was on the "bland" side and the servings a bit small, more suitable... More

Typical French restaurant used by the French. English translation to menu and the staff are able to converse in Franglais. As a Ceoliac they understood the need to be free of Gluten but occasionally forgot until reminded. Good for this standard of French Restaurant. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Takes MastercArd

There are not many restaurants in Cognac open in the evening! This one is very central (virtually next to the main Tourist Office). Good food, very charming service and very reasonably priced wine list.
