Quirky little place, fun and interesting.

This is the second time here. Our six-year-old asked to come back having enjoyed it so much last year. Basically it's caves being used to grow mushrooms. They have a big display case of snails: I suspect they are being bred for use in their restaurant. The children really enjoyed looking at the... read more

Very unusual location - restaurant inside a cave but a novelty worth experiencing, especially if you like mushrooms! Menu is very limited but staff are friendly enough and it all makes for something different to talk about. Worth doing once.

This restaurant is situated along the banks of the Loire about 100 metres into a system of caves. A flat walk takes you into an amazing room with pizza style oven cut into the walls. They grow mushrooms and have them in a few different ways. Their speciality is their small puffed up flat breads, rather like hot pittas but... More

My friend and I stopped by here while wandering through France. It was a time they happened to be closed, but we saw one man who was there and he was kind enough to open up the caves for us to wine taste quickly! Very friendly, and so kind of him (perhaps helpful in part that my friend is French... More

This is a fascinating place for all ages. Learning how mushrooms are cultivated and how snails are raised was educational for us. The dining room has a couple of fixed menus. You can request salad as well. All of the food is an adventurebecause it includes specialties of the region: breads, cheeses, style of preparation. It is well worth the experience.... More

The restaurant we had chosen was Closed, but a helpful local resident irected us to this great place with the admonition that we would not be dissappointed...We were not. Being with French relatives and speaking French we not being treated as travelers....There were 4 selections on the menu from 20 to 24 euros, the higher priced included escargots or duck....Our... The restaurant is located deep in the cave on the left before you reach the small areas the mushrooms and snails are grown. We opted out of a guided tour and wandered around ourselves after which we enjoyed a fabulous 5 course tasting menu. We were totally bowled over, the food was so delicious and the experience of enjoying a... More

Having dinner in a cave is a great experience, especially for children. We really enjoyed this, although I felt the dinner and wine were mediocre. It was also too heavy on the foue bread. With that said, I would definitely go back. The staff was very friendly, and they also offer visits of the cave, where mushrooms and snails are... More

If you like mushrooms and are not afraid of being in a cave (albeit quite a large one!), this is a great little restaurant. The wine served with the menu options is excellent and the multi course meal is very good. If you are looking for something different while you are visiting the Chateaux of the Loire valley, this is... More

We wanted to try foue bread & this place was 5 minutes from where we were staying. We went on a Friday night & it was heaving so really glad that I had booked. We weren't sure what to expect but once we had walked the 100 metres to the restaurant via the caves, we were met by tables set... More
