You are lucky if you can have a meal here!

We did not have a reservation, but luckily were seated at a cosy little table! It was possible to see the chefs working in the kitchen. Many beautifully presented dishes kept on rolling out of the kitchen to the diners! We took the set menu at 21€ each. I chose the Terrine de saumon on a bed of... read more

We all had the fixed price lunch menu 19€ ,there is also one at 15€. each course was beautifully presented and they all tasted superb . This restaurant in my opinion is one of the best in Saumur. I Recommend that you make a reservation as it gets very busy. Extremely good value.

The restaurant was full and by reservation only from what it seems, it was a Wednesday evening so mid-week always a good sign. There were two couples who sadly had to eat elsewhere because of no tables available. This is the 2nd visit to the L'aromate and it did not disappoint, the Gratine a l'oignon was delicious followed by everyone's... More

Food was great, really good, but the service was very, very slow. We got the menus quickly enough, but then had to wait for long periods before we got our entree, between entree and main, and between main and dessert. Food is absolutely delicious, so if you have the time it's worth the wait.

This restaurant as it turns out is a few doors away from L'Escargot, which is an equally fine restaurant. As I have not tried this restaurant before I thought I would give it a go. We went in Lunchtime (midweek) and chose to have the 28 euro menu rather than the 15 or 18.50 lunchtime offerings. All of the courses... More

My wife and I decided to give L'Aromate a chance on a whim. We arrived with no reservation slightly after prime dining time with no reservation. This was not a problem and we were accommodated with no fuss. The staff was more than happy to see us. We had a wonderful view of the kitchen staff at work and sat... More

Quaint and warm place. Nice owners. I think we were lucky to get a table. They were turning people away shortly after we sat down. The menu is unique and limited with delightful selections of fish, meat, duck, etc. nice wine list. Do not pass on dessert! Amazing desserts! If you are in Saumur, try this fabulous little restaurant. It does not... More

This small resto is beautifully renovated in a modern style. The staff were professional and eager to please. But best of all was the food. Well designed menu offering a wide choice of prix fixe or a la carte and specials. Portion size was large and the kitchen produced some of the best fois gras, salads, mains and desert I... More

Was closed last year for hols and has obviously realised what they were missing. Well patronised by Brits. Twice visited. David and I chose the 27 euro menu which we thought was much better than the 20 euro one. First we had a bottle of Rigoletto from Domaine de la Paleine. Today we have just visited their cave and purchased... More
