Authentic

Authentic French food. Good atmosphere. Friendly (only if the hotel makes reservations for you) Chalkboard menu is in French, brush up on your food, staff will walk you through it if you don't understand. Service decent and wine is excellent. Busy, noisy, small and engaging.

If you're French (like me) or just a French cuisine lover, you cannot miss this place. A big and wonderful a la carte and a fantastic wine card. Do not think : GO!

It's a party every night in this off the beaten path gem in Saumur. The menu is constantly changing. You really can't miss. Reservations necessary for dinner! Great outdoor seating! Lovely host and service, impossible to choose from the delicious menu, galipettes farcis are first choice for starters, desserts to die for! A must go place in Saumur!

Went for lunch this past Saturday (low season) with a largish group. It's placed on a little road just South of the Loire, in a very picturesque area. Very cozy and intimate (it was pretty chilly outside), and the welcome could not have been more warm or inviting. We had reserved in advance for our large group, and we were... More

We read about this place on TA, and assumed that it would specialize in rabbit. There was only one rabbit dish on the menu, it turned out the owner is Mr Lapin! The food was excellent, and his wine recommendation first class. The cheese board on offer was superb! Very busy with lots of very satisfied looking customers.

We dined at Le Pot de Lapin as this was a recommended restaurant to us. It is hugely popular and we felt lucky to have secured a table for our last evening in Saumur in this traditional restaurant situated a short walk from the centre. The restaurant was very busy on the night we visited and we were not seated... More

The good lady wife discovered this place from an internet search engine so we decided to try it one lunchtime in saumur. The place was obviously extremely popular but we managed to grab a table for two in the bar area as the dining room looked very busy. We decided to go straight for what the restaurant was reputed for... More

My wife, baby & I visited Le Pot de Lapin this summer for the 4th year in a row. It is now a staple restaurant on our annual wine tour of the Loire. In fact my parents now visit it every time they are in the area The setting is excellent, down a quiet side road with outside tables and... More

Small, friendly restaurant. Impressive range of dishes on offer, quite difficult to choose! Staff speak good English for those not confident to deal with the menu.

Enjoyed an absolutely sublime lunch today; starters of St Marcellin with Serano ham and Salade Gourmande, followed by Lapin and desserts of Baba du Rhum (add your own rum from 1.5L bottle placed on the table) and Assiette Suprise. Wine recommendation by waitress was spot on. Atmosphere very welcoming and English spoken, if required. Find it hard to believe you... More
