A restaurant full of atmosphere and bonhomie, with an interesting and varied menu

if you don't enjoy your meal here, don't blame the chef, blame yourself for making a poor choice! It's all good! The only downside (perhaps) is that it is tucked away in a side street down by the river, up towards the big railway bridge. The wine is also good, which always helps. What I remember... read more

Hidden away from the main routes it is worth seeking this restaurant for the wonderful menu that it offers. The dishes are high class, different to other establishments, very wholesome with lovely flavours , it is complimented with attentive staff, has a good wine selection, and is extremely good value.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel owner. We were not disappointed. Very friendly staff, the chef was also walking around the tables talking to customers, great wines, good menu, reasonably priced, Local . What more could you ask for?

A group of 5 adults + 1 toddler, with no reservation and we were treated with incredible hospitality. Our waiter was gracious, helped us select a great local wine and was understanding of our various dietary requests. Food was delicious, and two bottles of wine, 10 tapas, 3 plates, 1 entree, 2 desserts, 4 coffees and some pomme frites for... More

This was the perfect restaurant on a wet day during our stay in Saumur. The owner was delightful and explained all the menu and suggested a local wine to compliment our meals. The lapin was great, wine perfect and the cheese selection sensational. Cosy, local, great uncomplicated regional food. A real find.

Having heard there were some great restaurants in Saumur we did our research in advance and it paid off. Having said that booking wasn't necessary on a Friday night in June. Food was excellent especially my hake main and chocolate dessert. The bistro has a lovely feel. It is a bit out of town but worth seeking out. Good value... More

Having come across Le Pot on a few different websites before we arrived in Saumur, we made a reservation for dinner on a Wednesday night. All of the details and reviews were pretty much spot it, it was a fantastic experience! From the warm welcome, interesting menu options, good wine options and delicious Mustard bread, all came together to make... More

We were greeted by the friendly and chatty owner. Menu is French with international additions. The cheese stuffed samoas on salad appetizer and lamb tagine were delicious as was my husband's Ceasar salad and steak. Casual but classy.

Very good menu - plenty of choice. Quality of food was good and service was friendly and helpful. A small but popular restaurant tucked away off the main road
