Lovely food and great service by friendly people

Traditional French cooking beautifully presented. It was a great meal and so nice to have the English speaking staff tolerate my poor French. The only thing to be aware of is that the menu, which has several choices for each course, is a set price foe three courses. They may do a reduction for... read more

We went to this place based on its Michelin and Tripadvisor reviews/ratings. What an enormous letdown. The food was absolutely ordinary - a ravioli served in a soup bowl with watery cheese sauce, a pork dish of almost no flavour and overcooked/dry, and a desert that tasted as though it had come straight out of a cheap take-away. I can... More

Food and service was excellent! The lamb was one of the best we've tasted and every course was made with great creativity and spirit.

The exterior is cute with a subdued red color. Friendly greeting at the door. Cozy warm interior - we dined on the ground floor level - there is also a first floor. Menu is written on a blackboard and prices are reasonable. The food was tasty. We will return here.

3 evening courses for 30 Euros. Very high quality food and good portions. Friendly service and highly recommended (especially for couples).

The service was friendly, run by a husband, wife and daughter team, with the chef at the back. Place was tiny, so reservations is essential. A few people got turned away. The food is basic, bistro food. A lot of it is pre-prepared. Wine selection is small.

First sign we saw was "Menu Bistronomique" - it set the tone. We were not disappointed. Tasteful decoration, good choice of food on the blackboard, attentive service. A deliciouse meal. Nice touch - hand towels in WC rather than a noisy Dyson! Unreserved recommendation.

Very small and nice restaurant with original local French food. Good wines at very good prices.

We booked this after 2 years previous experience. It has changed hands and sad to say the quality has not been maintained. Menu promises well but delivers much less than previously and level of service much reduced. What a shame. Good luck for the future but we will not go again.

Le Petit Comptoir opened in 2005 and Wendy and I became regular clients, enjoying, as many other reviewers did, an inventive cuisine created by a chef of real talent. However as time went by, the quality of welcome became more and more unpredictable. This very often manifested itself in evident frustration at the mere fact that Wendy doesn't eat meat... More
