This is the second time I have dined here. Food is excellent and was beautifully presented. I had tartare saumon and hubby warm cheese to start. Beautifully presented on slates. Our mains were equally delicious. Crime brûlée to finish. House red was lovely. Reasonably priced and good service. Dinner menu was 20 euro for 3 courses. Definitely will visit again

We found this restaurant quite by accident as we stopped for lunch in Le Mans en route from Poitiers to Caen. The exterior really attracts you first as it looks quite medieval and welcoming. Inside is a split level restaurant, quite contemporary but incredibly stylish and cosy. The food is the bit that is of obvious interest and to say... More

My wife and I were lucky to find this excellent restaurant to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. We saw that it is in a historic period building and had a great experience. Using our broken French, we ordered and my wife had the Dorado and I the salmon, both were delicious. Coupled with a very nice bottle of Pouilly Fume... More

The restaurant looks quite charming, both outside and inside, but the food could be better. The fish starter was nondescript and the main course, a beef sirloin, ordered medium-rare was served almost well done - what a shame! Not sure how a french restaurant could screw up a piece of steak! Cheese plate was a little unimaginative with just two... More

We so enjoyed our visit to La Chamade. The interior in this timber framed medieval building bridging the old and new towns of Le Mans is quite amazing. Being a warm and sultry evening we chose to eat on the terrace. Our experience that night left us feeling relaxed and satisfied. This was in part due to the professionalism of... More

We ended up in La Chamade more by necessity than choice as we were late having lunch. We had the Menu de Marche for 15E and it was excellent value and the food very tasty. The cafe gourmand was a very nice treat. The staff were attentive but not pushy and we were not rushed despite the lateness of our... More

Great little find in the old part of town, good traditional food that catered for us all including a fussy eater. Nice tables outside, quiet, with unassuming service. The food was excellent.

Loved this restaurant. We went to eat at a different restaurant but it was closed on the Monday we were there. So we managed to blag a table at La Chamade as we hadn't made a reservation. Food was amazing, dessert was gorgeous and the waiter spoke pidgeon English like our pidgeon French so we actually managed to get some... More

Great restaurant with enclosed private terrace to eat outside in nice weather but contemporary and cosy deocration inside too. We had a 3 course meal and had no complaints with the service, quality or value. Presentation of food was excellent and there was a good range of wines to choose from.
