Having had a great meal there last year we made Rouen a destination on our return journey to the UK to repeat the experience. We shouldn't have bothered! The restaurant was strangely quiet for one with such a high rating. The starters were OK but the main courses were very small. Two tiny pieces of chicken in a tomato sauce... More

This is a really lovely little restaurant in the back streets of Rouen. It is very reasonably priced, and the food is delicious! The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially in helping me to pronounce the names of the food! The room is very nicely decorated and has a great atmosphere for couples or families. I would thoroughly recommend... More

I had never tried Afghan food before this visit and was pleasantly surprised. The food was mild, yet flavoursome (such as fragrant rice, and rich garlic and tomato sauces). Every dish had character; even the Kawa tea was flavaoured with almonds and cardomom and other spices. I recommend the gobajaman (?) for dessert. However what really stood out for us... More

We visited Kaboul tonight, the restaurant was pretty empty, not a good sign. The owner was pleasant & helpful. The disappointment was the food. Small portions and not very tasty. I disappointed. To think that it was rated above Gill, is somewhat ridicules.

I ate here twice on a recent visit, largely because of Tripadvisor reviews. I concur with everything said about the friendly service and very good food. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This is not a restaurant for those seeking a fiery Nage or Vindaloo (my normal choices in an Indian restaurant). Flavours are subtle and delicate, not remotely... More

There is nothing wrong with this restaurant. It is clean, atmospheric and the service was OK. However, I was disappointed. I don't really know what I expected, but whatever it was I didn't find it here. I am a fan of spiced food and eat a lot of what we English term 'Indian' food. Perhaps that is what I was... More

We ate here tonight based on some tripadvisor reviews. Never tried Afghan food. Restaurant was decorated with obvious eastern influence. Staff were very efficient and ever so friendly! The food was similar ti Indisn food but more delicately flavoured. We both had a chicken dish , wich was not overly spicey. Portion dize was meduim. We had the sambosa starter... More

We were warmly welcomed by the charming owner, we ate simple but beautifully prepared and seasoned Afghan food with fresh spices and aromatic herbs. Food like this is hard to find in France as the French do not like highly spiced food. This restaurant is a real find for anyone who misses the tastes of Indian sub continent. The whole... More

We arrived at the Kaboul on a very cold, wet night in May and were immediately made very welcome by the owner of the restaurant. The menu is similar, but different to an Asian restaurant that can be found in such places as Bradford, Birmingham and London. I must admit to being a bit of a curry fanatic and was... More

Fantastic food and really nice atmosphere. Staff were very helpful, although they didn't speak much English and the menus were all in French!
