The original recommended restaurant we went to was fully booked , we were re-directed to the Auberge. Friendly greeting , and as the weather was very warm we ate inside, Decor smart and clean ,with some of the original ancient structure carefully exposed which added to its ambiance . . We only ordered Les Plats and Dessert . The Plats... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant. Very nice. Our waiter translated the menu for us. Locals are obviously present, a good indicator! Located near the Cathedral in a classy part of Rouen. Lots of restaurants on this street.

After being "told off" for pushing two outdoor tables together to accommodate ourselves ( why?) the waiter was frosty to say the least. The food was just what I've grown to expect for €13.50 for two courses. Ok, not gastronomic but good value. Good rabbit liver parfait, pretty good bavette (always a bit of a chewing challenge) and an ok... More

Well, I wanted to have a good steak while in Normandie. It was probably my mistake ordering a sirloin, it was of a standard size but not soft at all. Sitting outside and watching the people passing by was fine a sort of compensation for the food. Yeah, and the vine was good

We happened on this restaurant on our visit to Rouen. The waiter became friendly and service was good. More importantly the food was wonderful. We shared a first course if sweetbreads in mustard sauce. The simply melted in our mouths. Then we had the pike (pollard) and the quenelles. I particularly like the quenelles which were light and flavorful. What... More

Having not long arrived in Rouen we enquired about making reservations at this restaurant as we were walking past only to be told it was closed Sunday evening and all day Monday. Looking a well presented restaurant we changed our minds and decided to eat there and then. We opted to sit indoors as it was not shaded outside for... More

We stopped to look at the menu outside this restaurant and were told by a local couple who were just going in that it was excellent. They were right. We had a delicious meal - both enjoying the very reasonably priced fish of the day. We noticed that one of our neighbours ordered a second dessert, neither of us could... More

We spent a week in this quaint village in Normandy as we did day trips to the WWII monuments, St Michel and followed Monet around to where he often painted in areas such as Honfluer, Etretat etc. Each day we would return to the Chateau and then go down to the village to eat at Auberge St-Maclou! What a treat.... More

The food was, by and large, excellent. No fixed price menu, so the cost ended up being fairly high. As for entrees, the fois gras was the best we have had anywhere and the vol au vent (pastry with escargots) was also great. Main courses were very good, although the quenelle were light and fluffy as they should be, the... More
