Who can resist a visit to the oldest 'auberge' in France when in Rouen? My advice is to not even try. What started out as a curiosity visit ended up being a superb dining experience, which while not cheap, was excellent value. We tackled the EUR49.00 menu - four courses plus a mis en bouche and petites fours to complete... More

We have been traveling through Normandy and wanted to fine where Julia C dined. What a disappointment. The food was horrible. Cold and tasteless. The head waiter was so rude. He took our wine order put it on ice and never came back to serve us. When we were seated there was cold hard bread on a plate. My duck... More

I'm terribly sorry for your disappointement and i will definitly have a word with our head waiter. This really doesnt sound like him. I find it strange you found the food horrible. it is possible that a meal wasnt prepped correctly (unfortunatly it does happen sometimes) but our head chef only works with the best local producers (most of them... Very old restaurant in a very authentic French building from 14 century. Service is very professional and an exceptional food.

We did not get a chance to visit this restaurant due to time constraints, but I just want to remind people who may be interested that this is the restaurant mentioned in the Julie and Julia film. The exterior is so attractive. Masses of seating outside. Just opposite the St Joan of Arc church. Will book a meal there if... More

My family went to this restaurant because we are fans of the Julie and Julia movie and felt like this should be part of our french adventure. It was perfectly french. The food was amazing, the service was like none other, it was the French experience I was looking for and I had previously spent 5 days in Paris. Definitely... More

For once we ignored what had been said on tripadvisor and glad we did. It cost a fortune but was worth it. The food was excellent and the service really good. I can imagine some folks may get treated possibly below par, but we had nothing but praise. We were seated upstairs by the fireplace. The place is steeped in... More

The night we ate there- with great anticipation- we had the worst service of our entire stay in France. Took orders brusquely. Dropped food off and then nothing. Totally missing from serving us and too busy with other tables. Never asked about our meal, never cleared unused glasses and tableware, never repoured wine. Then we had to ask 3 times... More

Gracious atmosphere, impeccable service and outstanding food. Expensive but well worth it. It is the oldest restaurant in France, founded in 1345.

Had read about this restaurant while reading Julia Child's book since this was the first restaurant she ever ate at in France. We had the most fabulous waiter; Thomas. He was funny, very friendly and gave us fantastic service. The entire meal was excellent from start to finish. Would dine here again in a heartbeat! Lot's of charm.

The restaurant is in a great location and looks really lovely from the outside however the food, although well presented, was tasteless and the service from one particular waiter was sleazy to say the least and I was left feeling a bit uncomfortable, 100 Euros lighter and hungry. Probably a hit with tourists because of the location but not it's... More
