We had a nice dinner for three (myself, my wife and our 16 years old son) at Brasserie Paul in Rouen. The food was good - A steak for me, salad for my wife and a burger for my son. Not incredible, but good. The desserts were even better - Cream Brulee for my son and a nice collection of... More

A tiny little boulangerie (part of a national chain) on a street corner with a single table and four chairs outside, it provided us with a great breakfast. The girl who served us was very tolerant (we're not the easiest of customers!) and the food was good (bread and jam the first day, croissants the next). Recommended.

Adequate in all respects including service, food and price. We visited on a Friday, it was surprisingly quiet but we still felt a little rushed.

So there we were in Rouen on May 1st, with practically everything closed for the holiday, wondering where we would eat dinner. Luckily, we stopped at Brasserie Paul for afternoon coffee, and found out that they would be serving dinner. Yay! But this was no "at least we got something to eat" experience. Steak with Bordelais sauce and frites with... More

We had coffee here early in the day. Enjoyed the atmosphere & available books by Jacques Panguy so much, we came back for dinner. Thank goodness such a fine brasserie was open on the May Day holiday! I enjoyed the lemon sole special. For my husband, with a dairy allergy, the generous & bi-lingual server recommended the "thick n juicy"... More

Dropped in for lunch and it was almost full - a good sign! Food was simple but very tasty and fresh. Typical brasserie food but good value and worth a visit.

A handsome large brasserie right next to the cathedral (a clue in the street address!). 18 of us descended unannounced last Saturday evening on a choir trip and despite initial uncertainties about exactly how many we were, the patron maintained his good humour as he rearranged the tables to accommodate us. I had the €24 menu, with a duck salad... More

We booked lunch here on Christmas Day. Food was fairly good although we could tell the difference between ordering from a set priced menu and ordering from the main menu in terms of Portion size. Nice atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

We has a very pleasant lunch on a Sunday with many local people around, including a lovely lady behind us with her dog. We had the formule and it was reasonably priced and well prepared. We had a pichet of red wine, also well priced. The atmosphere was very vibrant and the restaurant was full, most likely because it was... More

One senses the history here: it has the appearance one would expect of a largish brasserie. I have never eaten a bad meal here and there is a wide selection of typically French (and Norman) dishes. Location is obviously a strength, together with the timelss sense of a certain elegance. Service is efficient though I find it slightly impersonal, but... More
