Our hotelier was quite right to recommend this and a few other restaurants that do not necessarily attract the tourists. We all had the set menu and it was good value, generous and delicious. Delightful service too.

This is a cosy, romantic place with a lovely open fire in the middle of the dining room. My wife chose the € 34 menu, consisting of four courses. I went for the à la carte formula. As starter she took hot oysters. I went for the sea fish "starter" (without lobster), a lovely, but huge plate with crab, langoustines,... More

I go to Honfleur every two months to visit my mother. I often tried to go to l'Homme de Bois but as it is always full this time I made a reservation. It is a lovely place, chic and retro. The ambiance is warm and is for sure one the most beautiful restaurant in Honfleur. But food and service was... More

We can only endorse what the vast majority of the other reviews have stated. Wonderful food, service and ambience - lovely real wood fire in winter. We had lunch on Sunday and immediately booked again for the Thursday evening. Both meals excellent (Cote de Boeuf and al a carte fish dishes). Would thoroughly recommend it and as it is used... Always a favourite for the family in the winter months. A good warm log fire and rustic cooking. The seafood is also well presented and popular. Beware of being next to folk cooking their food on the hot plates as this can be smokey and certainly hasten your exit if on your pudding course. A pity as the fruit crumble... More

L` Homme de Bois is a fabulous restaurant, cosy, excellent food, nicely priced. We live in Honfleur a good part of the year & this is a restaurant we use very regularly. It`s cosy in winter too with lovely log fires & great service from young lively staff. The mid priced set menu is the best at around 24 euros... More

More relaxed and less formal than some of the more high end restaurants in the town, but great food nonetheless.

The food was excellent and the mood was great, some may say that the tables were too close but we liked the set up. Book early for a table.

After missing out on a table the night before, we booked the next... we definitely weren't disappointed with this typically French, rustic restaurant. Food was sensational and the Lobster was the best we've ever eaten. Worth the wait and another superb French restaurant we've eaten at. Thank you!
