Make a reservation or miss a treat!

Walking to the restaurant on a chilly January evening, we passed numerous restaurants, either closed, empty or with just a 2 or 3 diners. I was beginning to wonder why other reviewers had written that a reservation was a necessity.... until we walked in. We were welcomed in by delightful staff, and... read more

Sorely disappointed with this place. Perhaps they were just having an off night, but staff were curt, food was average at best, wrong food was delivered, and it was fairly pricey. Wine was ok and setting is good, otherwise there are plenty of other super places to eat in Honfleur so you can avoid this one.

For our long weekend in Honfleur we tried various restaurants of the top 10 of Honfleur, and this one is definitely the best for us. Very cosy interior (especially the table by the corner with a street view), food is delicious and price/quality is great. Still the best taste and cooking in the city. Thank you for our fantastic lunch!

We've eaten hear many times and never been anything other than delighted with the food and service. The quality of the ingredients and cooking are excellent and the portion sizes are substantial. On our last visit one of our group asked for something that wasn't on the menu and they were happy to oblige.

Had the 4 courses menu for around 30euros. Desserts are forgettable but the entrees and mains were delicious, especially any of the seafood. One of the few restaurants which has a fireplace. Book in advance to be seated near the fireplace during winter.

My wife and I visited L'Homme de Bois whilst having an overnight stay in Honfleur. We tried a few Michelin star restaurants but these were all closed due to it being a Monday night and possibly the time of year. We had spotted the restaurant whilst having a stroll around the town earlier in the day, and arrived at about... More

Good house wine, a vegetable tarte entrée that could be a light meal in itself, excellent fish dishes and a lovely café gourmand to give you a little flavor of the deserts and brandy. We reserved earlier in the evening, which was a good thing - the place filled up, despite being a Thursday evening in mid-March! Only downside was... More

A very charming restaurant with excellent food. The portions were generous. Despite visiting on a Tuesday night in the middle of February this place was full of guests - a good sign!

After reading all the great reviews on trip advisor and not being able to get a table as it was so full, we booked in advance and really looked forward to our meal. We loved the cosy atmosphere and found the staff efficient and friendly, but the food was dissapointing. My terrine starter was good but my husband didn't enjoy... More
