Away from the Quay, and better for it

This restaurant has no great frills. A good atmosphere, excellent service and good food. Away from the bustle of the quay area, and all the better for it.

This little restaurant was packed by the time we left (so be sure to book!). The lights kept going off in the restaurant every 20 minutes or so which was a bit odd, but the waitstaff immediately turned the breaker back on, so it didn't disturb out meal. The food, however, was excellent and wonderfully prepared. The souffle was a... More

The staff at the Hotel we stayed in recommended this Resturant to us. Lovely setting just away from the basin, the welcome was good and we were shown to a table for two. Good choice of food which was cooked well and looked very appetising. I ordered a half bottle of wine but unfortunately they had sold out so I... More

Two simple but good Normandy menus. Reasonably priced with a straightforward good value wine list. Excellent atmosphere with very friendly staff.

We visited this restaurant on Easter Sunday and had a very enjoyable and memorable meal. The food is of a high standard, tasty and well-presented. There was one set menu – normally there are more – but there was an array of meat and fish dishes all beautifully cooked. My sea bass was cooked to perfection, soft and flaky but... More

Very welcoming. Waiter very accommodating to the extent of letting my husband have a "taster" of tripe! Very good value. Look forward to tripe on my next visit. Well done. You deserve every success!

We booked late for lunch New Year's Day 2015 for 6 + 2 dogs but still enjoyed excellent welcome, service, menu choice. Each dish (both menu and daily specials) cooked and served to perfection. Lots of novel dishes to titilate one's taste buds - special commendation for the "joues de cochon" (pigs' cheeks) : so succulent and lean. Small tip... More

We visited twice - on Friday the restaurant was packed and the atmosphere fantastic, the following Tuesday not as busy but just as pleasant; on both occasions the food was superb and the service faultless. The well balanced menu changed between our visits and in addition there was a 'daily' specials board. Bottles of house wine were reasonably priced. We... More

So very up and down! Up - Warm welcome, good environment. Down - if the menu offers aperitifs, why no-one at our table till you're asked 'what would you like to eat?' Up - vg starters of scallops and tarte de boudin. Down - gateau de confit de canard - so over-minced, with soft, un-browned mashed potato on top, like... More
