Restful Cafe Experience!

This is a great quality / price...the food is home made, you eat in a garden setting. People go to Giverny to see Monets house and garden...walk in the village and eat in a house and garden. New wheelbarrows Re transformed into chairs. They have salads, home made quiche and specialty of the day at 5,50 euros !!! You pay... More

While visiting Monet's Garden in Giverny, we stopped at La Capucine. It is sort of cafeteria like, but the food was better. I ate the assorted cheese plate and drank wine and my mom had one of the sandwiches. The bread was great and the the price was very reasonable. The patio was relaxing, at least until a bus load... The food is fresh, made with locally grown items, and delicious. This is a small, cafeteria-style cafe with limited, but very tasty, choices. My casserole of potatoes and ham and cheese and my wife's vegetarian quiche were both very good. There are tables inside, covered and outside, and outside in the garden. Desserts are the best part! La Capucine is... More

We stopped in prior to viewing Monet's house and gardens. In addition to a broad selection of lunch/snack food they have tourist merchandize for sale. I had a great chicken sandwich and my wife ate a quiche. It is self-serve so don't expect anyone to come to your table ask for your order! Also, it is about 100 feet (30... More

The food was fresh, well prepared and at a reasonable price. Care was shown in its preparation. The quiche was fine, the fish stew was better and the rhoubarb dessert was very good.

We had delicious sandwiches at this self-serve spot near Monet's home. I had a vegetarian, my husband had chicken, and we shared an apple/ blueberry tart that was just right -- not too sweet. This is a quiet, shady space to sit and wait until it was time to head for the bus, and not as expensive as a full-service... More

The café style eatery is close to Monet's House and Garden. It is well landscaped with quirky features. Designed as a village square it has covered or open garden seating. The menu at lunchtime offers a variety of reasonable snacks, a bit pricey, but worth it. There's a shop/info centre in the garden. At nights they do jazz events which... More

Stopped here on the way to the bus stop after visiting the gardens. We had the vegetarian baguette sandwich which was very good. Roasted vegetables, a tasty sauce not overdone and a delicious baguette crusted with cornmeal. Finished with an apple tart that had just a hint of sweetness making it near perfect. No problem with the self service as... More

this was in a lovely setting and the food was good. a shame that the hot drinks were not served in china cups but the dispoable type. the staff were very friendly and helpful. on a sad note while we stayed there one night they were broken into, it seems that robberies even affect this charming little village.
