We went to this restaurant because it was highly ranked on TripAdvisor, and was advertising "French-Asian" fusion. We took the "Découverte" menu, which is 4 half-portions, plus cheese, plus a dessert, for 59€, which is good value and allows you to try almost half of their menu, but is not a massive deal. They managed to accommodate our "no red... More

A blast! Very creative cuisine, super fresh ingredients, a bit of fusion and a lot of talent!! Wine list is just amazing; connaisseur wines at v reasonable price. Chef makes himself available to his passion. Such a contrast with all the other restaurants we tried in Deauville.

Surprisingly for a Friday night, the restaurant was half empty. Luckily this was not a sign of bad food. The food was great with Asian twists, really great, especially the lamb confit. The Wagyu beef was sadly over cooked and slightly dry.The prices are on the high side, but it was still worth it.

L'Essentiel will definitely deserves its first Michelin star any time soon - we had the "menu decouverte", 6 dishes, all of them exquisite. Definitely a "must go" address in Deauville for fine dining.

My husband and I recently choose this restaurant according to the many of the outstanding reviews and even some of the "disappointed" reviews. I'm not sure if it was the excitement and anticipation leading up to the actual dinner or the dinner itself that left us feeling a bit "deflated". First of all the only person who actually smiled and... More

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary celebration because we had eaten there a year ago and it was superb. We chose the Decouverte Menu (58 Euros for 5 courses). This time the food was again quite delicious (especially the cut beef with Japanese sauce, and the fresh pasta with preserved lemons), but the service was atrocious. Despite having made... More

Explained i couldnt read wine list as i had forgotten my glasses- so asked for a recommendation to accompany the meal we ordered- Billed arrived & they had given me a bottle costing 138 Euros the most expensive wine they had on there the food came to 90 euros. Entirely accept its my fault but my mistake was trusting them... More

One of the best in the area for sure. Menu was imaginative and a bit different from the usual fare in restaurants around here. Friendly service and lots of opportunity to people watch!

We booked a table in this place because everyone at TripAdvisor said it was the best, and it was. Food was perfect, small plates but more than enough for us. The employees were also very friendly, they even translated the menu for us in English. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, everything was great and we had an amazing evening! We... More

Booked here for my Birthday on the ratings given by other Tripadvisors and was not disappointed. We chose a-la-carte as we eat fish but not meat and did not feel overly restricted in what was on offer. Service was very good and food of exceptional standard. The formule menu at lunchtime look to be good value, although we didn't have... More
