I loved the food. I've eaten at a few Michelin star places and this is certainly worth its'. It challenges just enough. I have read some people dislike Ivan Vautier's "ego" but personally if someone can cook that well I don't care about their ego unless it's on my plate! I agree things went very slowly indeed. Actually I think... More

Our meal there was fabulous and piqued the curiosity as it was not predictable. The service was also excellent and it was a great all round experience.

A wonderful choice for haute cuisine. Food was good, staff was accommodating. This has earned one Michelin star. A little ways outside of Caen but easily reached by car. Definitely would reconmmend.

Had booked our table for 8 pm. That was fine and with only 6 other customers and 2/3 waiters we thought there would be no problem at all. Not so. Waited 40 mins for water and our wine order (which wasnt raken for more than 39 mins and we had to ask for the water twice) We were not offered... More

We booked a table well in advance, but we were not told about a coach party of loud, and eventually drunk,Americans. One waiter tried hard to service the other tables, but the Americans were the only clients to get real service. I eventually got up and walked to the serving station to get butter for the bread, which was neither warm... More

Table booked for 20.00 first course served at 21.20. Bread rolls were not fresh. Slow service continued - final course served at 22.45. Food average, never inspirational - not worth a Michelin star. A big disappointment.

Excellent Michelin-starred restaurant with nice service and food. Foie gras for starter and Kobe beef steak were fantastic. A bit pricey, but it is worth to try. Located a bit outside of Caen downtown in a house with hotel under the same brand.

Ivan Vautier restaurant (formerly called "Le Pressoir") isn't the only good place to eat in Caen. The city luckily offers 4 or 5 other nice restaurants. But if you're looking for sophisticated French cuisine, combining tradition with contemporary cooking, favoring local produces and calory-conscious recipies, this is the only place to go to. Monsieur Vautier is one of those few... More

This restaurant had the best food and the best service of any restaurant I have experienced in France, yet it was less expensive than an "above average" Parisian restaurant. Tables were not squished together, the wine list was impressive yet not outrageously expensive, and the entrees, main courses and desserts were all - every one - amazing. Everything was very... More
