We had the pleasure of dining here on our way home to the UK from the Dordogne. What a find. My wife and I shared a trio of seafood as as starter and it was terrific. Prawns, moules, clams and squid all cooked to perfection on the grill and covered in garlic and butter. My wife had a main of... More

We went there after reading some positive posts on Trip Advisor and it has been better than expected. Waiters are friendly and very active and we got excellent appetizers and a large meal of very good grilled meat and grilled fresh fish. The basque wine a lyle bit "heavy" but in general a place with a good value. Go there!

More French Basque than Spanish, but none the worse for that. There were 4 of us and we all chose from the 20€ set menu. The choice was good and all our courses were well cooked and enjoyable. I would recommend the calves' kidneys and the rice pudding. We had a bottle of French wine which at 20€ was the... More

The place is always crowded the tables are a bit small. The food excellent, I took some boquerones, these are marinaded sardines. They were excellent after that my wife and I ordered a platter of fish. The price for this platter was 45 Euro. We were quite surprised by the quantity and variety of fish on the platter. There was... More

Based on TA reviews and the ability to book easily on-line through TA and The Fork, we eagerly anticipated our dinner at Bistrot Basque after a day-long event that was the reason we were in Caen in the first place. Imagine our surprise when, the day after making the reservation, we received an email that the restaurant (not The Fork... More

On our return to Caen, we booked to have another meal at this great restaurant. Located on the marina in the centre of town, it is easy to find, has a good atmosphere helped by great staff. It has a range of food but the fish is the best. We shared a large plate of cod baked on a bed of... More

We had a late evening dinner consisting of sharing platters of fish, cut meats and veggies. Had the best squid casserole I've ever tasted - totally unforgettable! Huge portions, we had three different dishes from the sharing/tapas menu + a small veggie side and could just nearly finish everything. Personalized and charming employees and a lovely place to start your... More

Looking for lunch, we (three adults and two young children) arrived without a reservation. The restaurant was very busy but after a minute or so they found us a table. The food was really good, very fresh and plenty of it. The deserts were a fantastic end to the meal (the macaron was sublime). Service was excellent and when the... More
