Great lunch in Bayeux

We were in Bayeux to look at the tapestry and Cathedral and needed lunch. This restaurant is off the main tourist area and the menu and staff were inviting. The French onion soup was excellent as well as the chicken dishes. Great experience!

We needed a light lunch at around 2:30 pm today and experienced efficient service and friendly staff. The galette were excellent as was the salade. We would return!

I'm not sure if it was bad luck, but we did not have the same experience as Amy K. We stopped in for dinner and I got the French onion soup to start and it was a pale color with a very mild taste. The wife and kid each got pizzas that were akin to a Dominos pizza. We've had... More

Many choices for kids. Very good location. You can eat outside as there is heating. Average price. The village is very nice

Food was slightly above average. However, the price was substantially high for what you get. This one counts as a 'to be avoided'.

It is very close to the Bayeux Tapestry building so a perfect spot pre- or post-visit. The location is attractive and close to the town centre. The four of us were only looking for a light lunch and we found just the thing at Le Garde Manger. We chose the "Aperitif Gourmand" (local salami-style sausage plus Camembert cheese) plus gazpacho... This was the only place open to eat when we got there (around 4 o'clock) and we couldn't go anywhere else. The staff are very nice and helpful but the food is really not nice, greasy and just not tasty. They have a couple of good beers but i would recommend to eat there.

Very busy but the food was substantial and arrived quite quickly. The galettes in particular were huge.

Great little restaurant in a picturesque location in old Bayeux. We enjoyed exemplary and friendly service, great food and terrific atmosphere. Crepes are just massive, so if you are not that hungry, enjoy soup and then a crepe, or consider sharing a dessert crepe. We were delighted with our evening!

What a northern gem! Coffee or evening meal in superb surroundings, you will not be disappointed. Busy at times, good things come to those who wait. Recommend the savoury crepes 👍
