Loads of restaurants to choose from in Bayeux, so after a bit if research we settled on L'Alchimie and can thoroughly recommend, it deserves the high TripAdvisor rating. The plat du jour at lunch is great value 2 or 3 courses at just €12/18, food was fresh and tasty and nicely presented, portions not massive (so we managed all 3... More

We sat outdoors when we ate here, and had a lovely experience. Though the one server seemed to be taking care of the whole restaurant, we never felt neglected. The food was good, and reasonably priced.

Our hotel staff recommended this restaurant and we're glad they did. We chose to eat outside because it was a lovely evening and a nice setting on the pedestrian sidewalk of the main street in old town Bayeux. I had fantastic fois gras and a very well prepared monkfish. My husband had a very good sole meuniere. The service was... More

My husband and I had dinner here in July 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat outside and ate the most sublime meal we'd had for months. The service was EXCELLENT (not always the case in provincial France). Strongly recommend!

We arrived in Bayeux late with no reservations. L'Alchimie was kind enough to take us inside, as all the outside tables were full. Good food and service. Food is very artfully presented but not as tasty as its neighbor, La Rapiere.

The food was good and the service was very good despite only one servant and many guests. The price was average like others in the area and the atmosphere was quite nice. I would recommend it.

A nice restaurant along the main dining street. Food was excellent. The service was good. There were many families being served there, which is good to know in a tourist town.

We had dinner here on two consecutive nights in July 2014 and would definitely return. We sampled the €24 and €32 menus and could not choose between them in terms of quality. The €32 menu has excellent foix gras de canard as a startre and also an interesting prawn dish with beetroot and asparagus. Main courses include the best whole... More

We went in asking the chef if he could be flexible for our 11 yr old son. It ended up being one of his favorite meals. We sat in the window and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The fish was to die for.
