Charming spot to eat and drink

Tucked away, this small but hospitable spot serves excellent food with a large selection of wines. The staff was helpful and hospitable to the extreme. It's a place you want to visit over and over. Felt like home but with better food. Lol.

what a fantastic evening. We were initially informed that the restaurant was full and that we would have to wait an hour. So we toured the surrounding area for something comparable. Having not found anything, we returned and said that we would wait the hour suggested. We requested some wine and were asked our preference, we said dry but not... More

Monsieur Henri and staff do a wonderful job with both food and service, and should be a must stop for wine lovers. Excellent little location on the canal on downtown. Definite 4 stars for sure, but make reservations as they're aren't many tables.

Me and my brother stayed in Bayeux for four nights doing Normandie together and we had dinner here two of these nights. Why was that as there were many other nice choices? Well, primarily because we had a very close, fun and interesting connection to the owner and he and his small team made us feel really taken care off... More

So my husband and I speak only rudimentary French, but fortunately our waiter spoke much more English than we spoke French in this quirky little wine shop/restaurant. There is no menu as we American know it, that is not one that is printed on paper. There is The Board, in French, which our patient waiter was happy to translate. There... More

This is a combination wine shop and restaurant on a creek. Fun to choose your wine from a wine list and/or from the bottles stocked along the outside wall of the restaurant. Fish from the channel was fresh and mild but the carrots and potatoes were only ordinary. Pork loin with potatoes was tender and flavorful. Service was good, Prices... More

My wife I enjoyed a weekday dinner here. So enjoyable! Greeted warmly upon entering. A complimentary glass of sparkling pear liqueur! This is a bistro with a huge selection of wine from all of France. The wine supply apparently changes, thus there's no wine menu other than getting up and picking one off the numerous wine shelves. A wonderful plat... More

Fabulous meal at a very reasonable price. We found this place by watching all the locals going there for lunch. Veal cheeks and a glass of the house wine for 9.5€.

A really great find, slightly off the main shopping street in Bayeux this place has a lovely French feel, waiters speak English and couldn't have been more helpful. We were given free fizz for the adults and a glass of juice for our son plus a small plate of amazing salami (which you can also purchase), we had two glasses... More

An excellent night, just as past reviews suggested. Tucked down a delightful ancient walking street, we arrived at 7:30pm fully expecting a lengthy wait for a table for 7 as its not a big place at all. The host jovially received us, and guaranteed us a table if we came back at 9p. We happily found a pub up the... More
