Do not pass this small gem by while in Bayeux. WOW! What a treasure. It looks like a wine shop and it is partly, but go for the food - and some wine too, of course! The menu is set every day. We began with a lovely glass of sparkling pear cider and some charcuterie. Then on to a spectacularly... More

We happened upon Le Volet Qui Penche during the busy D-Day celebrations week, and ended up having a really enjoyable evening. The set menu was three courses of delicious, proper homemade food, and the accompanying wine a perfect pairing. The place was packed to the rafters with diners of multiple nationalities (only one French-speaking table), whom our two indefatigable hosts... More

We ate here twice in one week. The restaurant deserves its high ranking on tripadvisor along with la rapiere. You need to check the blackboard menu as it is very limited but the food is good and the place has a good atmosphere. Apricot tiramisu was a standout!

My wife and I wanted to sit down and just have a glass of wine after a long day, and then we found this place. Great service, great wine, and the kids got ice-cream from across the street.

My husband and I, along with two friends, thoroughly enjoyed an evening at Pierre-Henri's Cave Bistro. We were fortunate on several counts that night. Two dinner options were available and my husband selected the beef dish and the three ladies opted for a white fish with the accompanying sides which were delicious. Too, the bread served with our meal was... More

The only problem with this gorgeous restaurant is that we discovered it on our last night in town. When we first walked in we were instantly greeted by the owner of the cafe, with a large and infectious smile. We were sat quickly, and given a free welcome drink ( can every restaurant in the world do this please?). The... More

Recommended by our Hotel, this is a small restaurant cum wine shop. A limited menu very well cooked with excellent service and good advice on wine. We had a great meal and then bought (on the owner's advice) three good bottles of red wine as a gift for wine loving hosts at our next stop in the Charente. Having shared... More

No pretense here...just great service, food wine all in a lovely little shop. I always had a friendly greeting by the staff. Prix fixe menu with one entree elegantly prepared.

This restaurant is different in that it is a wine shop, plus a restaurant. Lots of local patrons, always a good sign. It is hidden off the street but easy to find the sign. The menu is different every day and depends on what is in fresh and in season. There are no choices, you are told what they are... More

On a large family trip of 15 people, we decided we didn't like the menu of another restaurant in Bayuex. We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and called. It was later in the evening around 8:30. This is a smaller place and without reservations accommodating 15 people isn't easy. The owner said he would do so, but cautioned us... More
