Cozy Lunch Spot

My husband and I stopped in here for a quick lunch before we left Bayeux on the train. My onion soup was delicious and my husband enjoyed a very nice café gourmand. Very convenient to the cathedral and the center of town.

Me and my family stepped into the restaurant by chance and we had an awesome surprise. The food is very good , both in taste and presentation. Good wine. The waiter was lovable and patient (as we don't speak perfect French) . Overall excellent experience.

Our good wasn't great, but not bad. One day we had risotto and it tasted like it had been frozen chicken reheated, nothing special. The other time we had burgers which were a bit better. The second time we were there the waitress was completely overwhelmed, the poor thing, and forgot our drinks etc. I don't recommend this as a... More

Visited on a quiet rainy night and we had a great time. The food was very good, had lamb and creme brulee. The service was very good and they have no problem speaking English if you ask. It's close to Hotel Villa Lara too.

After check in, four hungry (no food on train) tourists headed there at 3 pm, a mere 2 minute walk from Villa Lara, across a small bridge. Basic brasserie fare during day: burgers, frites, unusual onion soup, pizza, salad. After 6:30? pm, you can order daily specials from board. Hot chocolate is great!

Being vegetarian is challenging at times in Europe. I visit here often when in Normandy and have their mushroom omelette. Without doubt the best I've had anywhere. Visited in May, September and November '15 and always as delicious. Served quickly and all of the staff are very friendly.

Just around the corner from our hotel, this gem is a great place to sit outside and enjoy the area. Just steps away from the Church of Bayeux, you can see the church as the sun sets and the lights illuminate this beautiful building.. Food was very good, and service was excellent.

In Bayeux, there are a lot of choices for lunch. Most have good location, quite a few have excellent fare the bonus that this Brasserie has to its advantage is that it is open from 10 - 10pm (doesn't shut in between traditional meal opening times - which can be very helpful depending on your itinerary). If that was it's... More

Stopped to have a cider and beer. The place was packed at 4:00pm. Waiter was not happy when he learned we only wanted drinks and snacks. However the cheese platter was just lovely. This was our first day in Bayeux and soon realized that you need to be in place for drinks and coffee by that time or you will turned... More
