Typical Normandy cooking--- large restaurant with lots of family groups, great desserts. Ate here twice, and service was varied. It was crazy busy the second time we went and food came slowly. Would come here again, but would be prepared for slow service.

Ducked into this corner restaurant by the Cathedral for lunch on a Sunday. The place was busy with families and afternoon diners. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was fair at best, but it was on par with the reasonable pricing. Nothing to rave about. No need to return.

We've been to France four times and this is the worst meal we've ever had. The only bad meal we've ever experienced. Ridiculously slow and inattentive service. The onion soup tasted like water, the creme brulee like room temperature egg. They never brought one of my husband's plates at all. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is... More

The week before Easter was not the best weather in Normandy. We arrived in Bayeux after a stormy crossing and trudged towards the lights of the Cathedral in search of sustenance. The welcoming lights of L'Assiette Normande drew us there and we never looked back. For value, local cuisine and sheer friendliness it was just too good not to return.... More

We were in at l'Assiette Normande in June of 2014 with 2 other couples and were very pleased with the service and our meals. My boeuf bourguignon was font fabulous but fine, but the camembert mousse was the star. The pastries are not to be missed either, especially the apple tarte.

Cute restaurant in the heart of the town and one or two tables look right on to the cathedral ; good atmosphere, friendly folk and a fair priced wine list. Food however only so so. The soup a l'oignon was simply poor, the lamb tasteless....oysters and pate were fine ; in other words food bought in good and the kitchen... More

Got in late on a Thursday night and ducked in here for dinner after being mesmerised by the cathedral. The service was quick attentive and very friendly, the food was superb and the price was cheap. The waitress was helpful in beer and wine choice and I would of been happy to dine here for the remainder of our trip.
