Pretty but dull

Cute restaurant in the heart of the town and one or two tables look right on to the cathedral ; good atmosphere, friendly folk and a fair priced wine list. Food however only so so. The soup a l'oignon was simply poor, the lamb tasteless....oysters and pate were fine ; in other words food bought... read more

Got in late on a Thursday night and ducked in here for dinner after being mesmerised by the cathedral. The service was quick attentive and very friendly, the food was superb and the price was cheap. The waitress was helpful in beer and wine choice and I would of been happy to dine here for the remainder of our trip.

We arrived from Paris late and hadn't checked into our apartment until well after 6pm. Making our way to the Cathedral we saw this restaurant and even though the place was packed, the maitre d' found us a table upstairs. We had fabulous food and the wine was good. Would recommend it anytime.

I've been in Bayeux with my girlfriend for a weekend in November and I had our dinner twice at L'Assiette Normande. The first time, on Friday night, we were just going around when we saw this place and we decided to get dinner there. On the day after, on saturday night, we were searching for another place to try something... More

A group of 6 of us descended on this restaurant and had a fantastic evening! we were well looked after by all the staff the food was absolutely fantastic, really really good food the prices were extremely good, 4 course for 25 euros, you would struggle to beat this and receive the same quality of food. it wasn't just like... We had not booked a restaurant and were lucky enough to get a table on a busy Monday night. The restaurant was full, so we waited a while for the menus. We both opted for the set menu at 13,90 euros for two courses, and a carafe of house wine. My husband had French onion soup, and I had a... More

Service was friendly but a bit slow. The French don't kiss customers backsides like American waiters. We had 2 very good waitresses Food was tasty, good portions, lots of vegetables for a change and fresh!! Lettuce. Decent price for food and wine. Nice location by church. Enjoy

We took a late lunch there on the recommendation of our hotel manager and it was wonderful. The service was relaxed as it is supposed to be in France but at the same time prompt and very friendly. The food was too good in that you didn't want to leave any behind (we didn't). the price was very reasonable.

We had not booked so decided to go early and luckily we did as 30 minutes later the place was full with a real buzz of atmosphere. There is one waitress who is quite brusque (probably needs a bit of training) but generally the staff were very good and helpful and the service was good but traditionally french and not... More

Staying in Bayeux for two days of our French vacation, we dined at this restaurant and came away disappointed. The waitress who seated us was as rude as the Parisian stereotype. When we had the audacity to ask two questions about the menu, she snapped at us, " I thought you were ready to order." Hoping that our tolerance would... More
