Perfect Pancakes, Delicious Cider - how very norman!

After visiting the Bayeux tapestry (amazing) we wandered through the little cobbled streets behind the Abbey and were delighted to find this little pancake house open on a sunday lunch. The galette and the crepe were nothing special..the galette filling was very good but the galette itself was not great..the crepe was good but the chocolate and the pear were cold. The pear cider was excellent though!

The restaurant is very clean and well-presented, but the meal was nowhere near the standard it should have been. My galette arrived untidily presented on the plate and its content was frankly, a greasy mess. Part of it was incredibly salty, as if the seasoning had been dropped in one corner and not distributed evenly. We were the only customers... More

We wanted to have lunch at the "Moulin de la Galette" by the river, but it was full and an hour to wait for a free table, so we walked around Bayeux and we ended up at l'Insolite. It looks small from outside but they have an outdoor area at the back. This area is al fresco type, but has... More

We have to stop here every time we are in town, we have yet to disappointed. I had the tuna and cream galette this time and it was rocking. If you looking for a crepe or galette pass all the other by and head straight here.

I came across this lovely creperie one afternoon in Bayeux. I was lucky to be served because they close after lunch until the evening. Because I was on my own they said it was ok. I had a savoury tuna crepe and it was delicious. I would definately recommend this place.

Context Diner with friends on a saturday evening Location / atmosphere In a quiet cobbled street, the crêperie is a small cosy and warm restaurant (50 covers max). Service Great service, the waiter was funny and patient and answered all the questions we had because of the large choice we had. Food I had a camembert galette (try this if... More

We enjoyed this casual creperie serving all sorts of sweet and savory flavors. I ordered one with spinach, ham & cheese which was pretty good. But the one my husband had with rich tomato sauce, ham and egg was the best one we had during our trip in France. Even with the sauce, the galette didn't get soggy at all.... More
