We had booked a table here based on TA reviews, and so pleased we did. The restaurant was fully booked last night and some tables had a second sitting. We had the 29 euro menu which had a good choice. Everything was cooked and presently extremely well, and a very good choice of cheese. With a decent bottle of red... More

The Villa Lara Hotel where we were staying recommended this restaurant and made us a reservation! We were not disappointed- even my 13 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son relished every morsel they ate. Everything was cooked exquisitely and this was probably the best meal we had in our one week in France. The restaurant property is so... More

Charming small restaurant in centre of Bayeux. Typical and straightforward French cooking - everything done efficiently and well. Excellent, friendly service, even when busy.

#1 in Bayeux according to Trip Advisor! And just up the road from our hotel le lion D`Or. We were hooked! Wine list looked expensive but found a shiraz/merlot at €20. Good value. We choose the €29 set menu. My wife had the duck terrine which wasn't great. My veg Mediterranean goats cheese was tasty. For an extra €3 we were... More

La Rapiere has Outstanding food; a great staff and wonderful ambiance. I highly recommend you dine here!!! It's nicely located just off the Main Street. We were very fortunate to get a reservation. If you have one meal in Bayeux this is where it should be. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

La Rapiere is a small intimate restaurant. Yes, it is more one the expensive side, but it is well deserving. You have the extra touches of an amuse-Bouche, different bread served with each dish, a sorbet, an lovely cheese selection, port etc. You do not want for anything. The service is phenomenal and the meal timed perfectly. The asparagus risotto... More

Tucked away down a side alleyway this isn't the sort of place that you just find by wandering past. Yet on a Saturday lunch time it was full with customers and that tells you something. The food was excellent, service very friendly and all in all a very comfortable place to eat. The only tjing I would suggest is that you... More

My wife and I have eaten at Le Bernardin, Daniel, 11 Madison Park, Del Posto, and Babbo in NY, and many other fine restaurants in Washington, San Francisco, Rome, Paris, Vienna, Florence and have never had a meal so well presented and so sell prepared as we had at La Rapiere. Just out of this world - my wife, son,... More

We weren't able to eat here on our first evening in Bayeux as they had no available seating, but we made a reservation for the following evening. It was outstanding! The building itself and the decor are very charmingly rustic yet elegant and very inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server couldn't have been sweeter. La Rapière offered... More

I can only agree with other comments about this gorgeous little place. The whole atmosphere is charming and the service and food top notch. I'm surprised it is not rated more than two knives and forks in the Michelin guide. If i'm ever back in Bayeux we'll definitely return.

thank you so much for your comment and for your concern about the Michelin Guide, but don't worry anymore we were rewarded by a BIB Gourmand which is enormous for us, we're so excited ! If you're back to Bayeux we'll see you again with pleasure, kind regards, Linda More
