Average meal for a high price!

We chose this restaurant because its a reccomendation of the MIchelin guide. Service was terrible, took so long... and they are not friendly with kids. Food was OK, below the expectation. We had foie gras poelle but it was raw and full of gras. Definitely didn't liked.... MOdern decoration... read more

Visited with a group of friends whilst visiting the area. Can't recommend highly enough, wonderful food, delightful ambiance, friendly staff especially one particular young waitress (apologies never did get your name) who was enchanting throughout. Merci Beaucoup!

Beautiful ambience, warm service and excellent food. We were seated near the fire place in this beautiful wood beamed room. Great menu selections; we both loved our entrees and the capped off with a wonderful cheese selection. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful city and then dine at La Rapier!

Delicious food...especially the dessert, so make sure you save room! We made reservations to dine here when we arrived at our hotel.

My husband I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Loved the atmosphere. Very romantic. One of our best meals while in Normandy for a week

We made reservations months in advance. The service and food were exceptional in this small restaurant. Our 7-year-old son also enjoyed the flavorful courses. The quality of the food was better than many of the restaurants we dined at in Paris at a fraction of the price. We wish we had made reservations for each day of our stay in... More

My wife and I spent four nights in Bayeux recently. During the first day of a two-day private tour of the D-Day beaches, we asked our guide for a dinner recommendation. Without hesitation, he said, "La Rapiere." It was a Monday and, when we got to La Rapiere that evening, we saw that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.... More

Found La Rapiere via TA when researching a long w/e in Bayeux. Got a booking for our party of 4 and we have just got back to our rented house and reflected on our evening... At the moment, I'm fairly sure that this was about the best complete meal that I have ever eaten! We all had the 40 euro... More

Friday noon and it was full – I recommend making a reservation. We took a menu (that was also served at dinner). The food was good; the ambient was good; the prices were reasonable (actually, I think the food is underpriced). I got the feeling that the place could easily become an exclusive, top priced restaurant, but the owner chose... More

Down a stone alley off the main street, is Le Rapier, which was recommended to us by our innkeeper as one of the best restaurants in town. It is not. It's a small space, stone walls, white tablecloths, simple decor. The cheerful, but obviously long-suffering staff will insist on speaking English to you even when you speak fluent French. For...
