Perfect dining experience

Our family of four ate here in July - after making reservations online prior to our trip. Our expectations were quite high, as we were anxiously awaiting our first nice, multi-course, French meal. We were not disappointed, and left very happy with the entire experience, and it is a meal my kids... read more

We selected the restaurant based on the great reviews we found on TripAdvisor. The restaurant is a big contrast in style with the restaurants found in the main street and has a nice selection of dishes. We chose the gourmet menu and had the wine suggestions to go with it. Service was friendly, wine suggestions paired well with the dinner... More

We booked ahead to secure our table, having had this restaurant recommended as the best in Bayeux, and so glad we did. We went with the Menu plaisir option at 49euro each for a 3 course menu, but ended up with hors d'oevres/ palate cleansers and pre deserts as well as the chees course, so have a light lunch! The... We had the 4-course Menu Plaisir (strictly 5 courses if you include the Trou Normand - sorbet with Calvados! between the starter and main course. We started with a delightful duck foie gras and a lively dish of prawns and superbly flavoured cockles; thence via the Trou to delicious leg of lamb for both, clearly differentiated into rare and medium-rare... Fine restaurant, for which you need to make a reservation. Many customers were turned down while we were there. We had the four-course menu and liked everything, although cooking is not as imaginative as in L'Angle St Laurent. Beware of the wine offer, though: we paid 25 euros each for three glasses of wine which we supposed to be selected... More

My wife and I stumbled on La Rapiere while we were looking for a restaurant to eat dinner in Bayeux. The restaurant is located off a small alley as we walked down the main street of Bayeux. The menu looked good and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside. This is definitely a white table cloth restaurant. The menu... More

I read reviews of La Rapiere in advance of my families trip to Bayeux so I booked reservations. So glad I did as this was our last day and we wanted a special dinner to finish out our trip. After a day of sightseeing we were exhausted and slightly disheveled and had no time to freshen up before arriving at... More

I had read many great things about the La Rapierre Restaurant in Bayeux from a number of sources. So I emailed for a reservation 3 months in advance…they were prompt with their reply. We had very high expectations and were prepared to be disappointed……We were not! What an absolutely fabulous place to eat. The four of us opted for various... More

I went here as a last night treat having read the reviews. Very glad I did. Food and service is excellent Not stuffy and formal, but a high quality eatery with a warm atmosphere
