Did not disappoint!!

Going by the many positive reviews on this gem of a restaurant, I made sure I booked well in advance. Something you must bear in mind as it was full to capacity. From making the reservation, to leaving I can find little negative to say. The staff are all excellent and all speak very good English... read more

Wow. Wow!! We had an absolutely delicious 7-course meal here and highly recommend it for fine dining in Normandy! But make sure you book a reservation! 1st off the entire staff was very friendly and helpful knowing just enough English. Then in addition to the listed courses they surprised us with even more. Every course was a wonderful surprise from... More

Our meal at La Rapiere was excellentfrom amuse bouch to dessert. The food was well prepared and delicious. My only critique would be that service lagged during certain times. All in all, though it was a very good experience.

Make reservations. The food was delicious and the staff was very knowledgable and attentive. The menu offers limited choices, but everything we ordered was fantastic. The server was able to suggest a wine that paired excellent with our meals, and the surprise appertifs were wonderful. This is not a place for children, but luckily we had a sitter for ours.

I ate at this restaurant last in June 1994, when it was quite theatrical in emphasizing the rapier, especially when opening wine. Rather more muted this time, but still very good. The restaurant is situated down a side street, quite close to the main shopping street in Bayeux. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The menu is well balanced, and... More

Delicious! I made the reservation about 4 months before our visit, after we booked the Eurotunnel. Other reviews on Trip Advisor had raved about this restaurant, so I wanted to book early (to avoid disappointment!) I wasn't disappointed. The gourmet menu with matching wines was a real treat. Although by the end we did wonder whether we'd want to eat... More

This small restaurant hidden on a side street is a gem. Chef and family owned, the food is marvelous and the service excellent.

The food was fantastic! Delicious and beautifully prepared. Definitely would recommend. We had the grand menu which was a 4 course meal with little surprises in between.

We sat in the direct line of the kitchen and could observe all of the food leaving the kitchen and plates being returned to the kitchen. We were there for almost 2 hours and, honestly, there was not one dish returned that had food left on it! Reserve at least 3 days ahead of dining here. Intimate setting. The hostess... More

We were lucky to have one of the last tables at this restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We read the reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is run by a family who are very friendly which adds to the atmosphere. We decided to go on the 40 euros menu which included an Amuse Bouche(Creme Brûlée... More
