If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Bayeux, this is your place. The menu is classic and the ambiance matches. Nestled in an alley off one of the main streets in town, the split level restaurant is charming. Try the oysters!

Walked down an alley 20m and there was a very busy restaurant that turned out to be highly rated on trip advisor. It has definitely earned its reputation. Lovely set menu dinner reasonably priced. Would go back if I returned

In Bayeux just for the weekend I reserved this table before travelling - to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary - with our two sons. I'm glad I did - the restaurant is not huge and so well worth visiting! The three men had apéros, I the wine - a good list at good prices. The meal was delicious with nothing... More

La Rapiere is a small restaurant with about 10 tables total. The set menu includes simple but very good food at a great value. The waitresses are wonderful. And we found the restaurant mostly filled with WWII veterans and their families. A great night at this restaurant.

Well deserving of its top rating! Emailed to make our reservation and were warmly welcomed upon our arrival. Seated in the upper salon near the wine cave and in a warm cozy area we savored each bite of our wonderful dinner and dessert. We selected the regional menu for the evening and found each course to be superb. An excellent... More

The ingredients were fresh, the preparation was excellent, the presentation was very simple but elegant. Most importantly the food was prepared and served with love.

We ate at La Rapiere after reading favourable reviews on TA and booked by email from the UK (Linda the co-owner can write English very well). The restaurant is tucked away down a small alley off of the main shopping street and is definitely a more upmarket dining experience than some other restaurants in town. The all female staff were... You'll find this little restaurant in a small alley and at first you'll probably wonder if you've arrived at the right place. It was completely full on the night we had dinner there. The food was very good, every course was delicious and the whole family enjoyed it, which does not often happen. A gastronomic experience worth repeating.

The quality of the food is first class and the service wonderful but for more than 150 euros for two I could eat in pretty much any restaurant and it really isn't THAT good! I would not do it again and urge caution for other travellers
