We left talking about where this ranks in our list of top meals ever and decided that it's firmly in the top 2-5. Every course was perfectly prepared and presented. Portion sizes were just right - each small enough that you can make it to dessert without being over-stuffed. The restaurant was completely full on a Tuesday night - we... More

We took advice from other reviews and booked before we arrived in Bayeux. This restaurant really is special. We selected two different menu choices and my wife opted for the day's special which was Dover Sole. I have to say when it arrived it looked so good I nearly changed my choice on the spot! I didn't of course and... More

We ordered from the set menu but the palate cleansers were given and not included in the price of the advertised grouping so things added up quickly. Having said that, the duck fois gras and truffle soup was delicious and the beginning of a delicious meal. The veal was incredible and the tiger shrimp risotto was incredible. Excellent food. Don't... More

The food was outstanding, a little pricier but was worth it. Was offered a drink of Calvados after(Apple brandy) and knew would have to pay for it but when bill came, was 16 Euros each! Had the tiger prawns with risotto, veal filet, and cheesecake for dessert, all were wonderful.

We managed to sneak a booking on Friday ( last available table I think ), we were lucky !! The menu is first class right from the 29 euro to the 50 euro selections ( all also available al a carte ). Wine is also reasonably priced with a wide selection available. The service was exceptional despite the restaurant being... More

Our last night in Bayeux was made so special at La Rapiere. We lucked out and got their last table of the night…..so recommend making reservation well in advance. The ambiance is romantic and the food is incredible. I had the oysters, fish stew, and creme brûlée, and my husband had the foie gras, filet de veau braise, and vanilla... More

I wanted so bad to give this review five stars, but cannot. Everything from the food*, atmosphere, and service was fantastic except for my wife's main plate. The bad first: My wife ordered that night's special with her menu, the Dover Sole. I was excited for this as well (hoping to get a bite) as we've each had Dover Sole... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal at this fine restaurant. I emailed ahead to ask about working with a wheat & gluten intolerance. They even served the ONLY GF bread that I had while visiting in France. Enjoyed every aspect of the meal. Highly recommended.
