Staying in Bayeux for a few days we tried several of the town centre restaurants. None gave any cause for complaint but this one provided the best food, excellent value and good service. There were many restaurants in the area that were expensive and didn't have food we would want - but this place was a treat! Very large portions, English speaking wait staff and lovely desserts. Good value for the price. Would go back again!

We tried out Drakkar for dinner and ordered the chef-recommended "XXL Entrecote" and the mixed grill fixed price menu. The steak was huge and perfectly cooked, and it was tender and absolutely delicious. The same could be said of the mixed grill, though the onion soup that came with it was a bit underwhelming taste-wise. The staff were not the... More

We chose this restaurant as they had a special of three courses for 12 Euros, great value as the a la carte menu was pricey. What a pleasant surprise to receive the first course, a most delicious tomato and basil tart - best I've ever tasted, and this was followed by an equally delicious Gammon steak with superb sauce. The... More

Had the coq a vin which was a little overcooked. Husband had the steak anglais, which was perfectly cooked meat in a nice sauce. Both were a bit under seasoned - maybe they were afraid of American taste buds? We had a 1 for 2 nice meal, but it was affordable compared to other places in the area. Locals do... More

We went to this restaurant on a recommendation from our hotel. It was our first night in town and we were tired from travelling and wanted something good but not too fancy. We both ordered the steak frites with a bottle of wine. Service was fast and the meal was delicious!! Just what we were looking for. Would highly recommend... More

Recommended by the staff at the Villa Lara as well as at the Churchill Hotel. We had set menu of 17.50E and selected the Onion Soup, Beef, Lamb,Chicken kabob, and the Onion Soup, Chicken dish....dessert the apple tart and delicious cafe & vanilla gelato.....split bottle of red wine.....nothing better.

Happy Hour, reasonable prices and a satisfying meal. The food was delicious and the restaurant is right in the middle of the main street and just across from our B&B.

The food at Le Drakkar was nothing special. We ordered the mixed grill (beef, duck, lamb chops) all of which were a bit tough and bland. We also ordered creme brûlée for desert which was ok. The service however was excellent. Unlike many French restaurants, this place was large with seating downstairs, upstairs and outside. We found the prices to... More
