Crowded,& no reservation, but they found a place for us

We ordered a galette for one mains, and the duckbreast for the other. Both very nicely cooked and presented. The ambiance is fabulous. The waitstaff were friendly and spoke English for us when we stumbled with our French. The prices are very reasonable, and as I was working nearby, it was a very... read more

We found this place online after visiting the Tapisserie Museum. The galettes were creative and were made with high quality fresh ingredients. The lovely setting on the river made our lunch quite memorable.

Had lunch here, my wife and I both had the burger gallette which was not bad though at 14 euros we thought a bit expensive. We had a table on the veranda which was lovely, and the service was very good.

Hi and thank you for your visit. 14 € for a full plate made of 150 Gr of beef meat, a home made galette, a hot organic egg, cheese, burger sauce, fresh onions cooked in cider, a full portion of home made french fries and a full portion of fresh salad, i really don't think it is so expensive. you... Wonderful setting - on the river. Wonderful food - an amazing selection of "galettes" - savory buckwheat crepes that are a feature of northern France. Nice wine and beer. The owner is the main staff and he is very personable. It was raining the night we visited so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor seating which looked very attractive.

Veggie gelette was amazing, the snails were rubber. Main course came out before starters. Waiter was apologetic which made it a little better. Had to ask four times for water as everyone else around us recieved water and bread. Was brought the dessert menu but was never asked what we wanted so we paid and left. Poor service given with... Outstanding restaurant. Opened in Sunday. Quick and good service. Outstanding galette forestiere. Beautiful scenery with the little river and all the flowers around. Plus it a stone away from the tapistry museum and the cathedral.

This was a fabulous restaurant experience. I usually eat low carbs, but I could not resist this wonderful place. We highly recommend it! The waiters and the kitchen staff are extremely friendly. They even gave us a demonstration in the kitchen on making Galletes.

We enjoyed, as a couple, morning coffee and indulgent sweet crepes by the river. It was the ideal way to commence our visit to Bayeux. The staff were helpful and friendly, speaking good English. The crepes were delicious.

Book a table in advance; small and popular. Bustling and noisy, not a spot for a romantic meal. Best crepes we had in Normandy and France. Staff was friendly.

Our group of 7 arrived on a very busy evening. The place was packed. Yet, the staff went our of their way to accommodate us. We loved the selection of food... a variety to please all tastes....Galettes were superb. The staff was so friendly and fun that it made the entire evening one of our best in Bayeux.
