The owners Isabelle and Thierry Lhuillery are strongly attached to the region, which displays lot's of famous specialities. Their cooking is both original and typical.
The owners know pretty well the local producers, with whom they have been working for many years. When the ingredients are cooked, it is always in the respect of their original flavour, only spices and fresh herbs are added in order to make the best come out of them.
Enjoy eating fresh sea food straight from the coast; try our daily raw marinated fish course, or a slice of duck foie gras flavoured with apple fragrances.
Don't miss our Normandy beef and duck breast, or our delicate fish dressed with a light cream dressing.
Do not also go by, without tasting our local cheeses such as : Camembert, Pont L’Eveque, Livarot or Neufchatel.
And finally to put a pleasant end to this perfect meal try a chaudfroid apple dessert...
It will be our pleasure to help you choosing in our wine and cider list the most appropriate beverage.

The Best of Normandy Cuisine

I have eaten here three times and not been disappointed. The chef takes the basic of Norman cuisine: apples, cream, fresh fish and cheese to create interesting and tasty fare. More expensive than your typical brasserie or café located on the squares, it is well worth the price. The service every... read more

Don't miss this restaurant very near the cathedral. The décor is warm and cozy, especially welcome on chilly, rainy nights in January! The food and wine selections were excellent. Highly recommend the coquilles Saint-Jacques, soupe de legumes and the Normandy cup: apples, calvados and apple sherbert. The service was prompt, however, not hurried. We were warmly greeted on our second... More

After starting our France adventure in Paris we then ventured up to Normandy. A morning spent at the D-Day Landing Beaches then found us in Bayeux to view the famous medieval tapestry. It was then time for lunch and our first chance to try Norman cuisine. This place came high recommended and we were not disappointed. The first clue that... More

We flew for 8 hours, drove for 3 hours checked into a great hotel and walked thru the wonderful streets of Bayeux to Le Pommier. What a wonderful introduction to French dining. We both had scallops with nettle sauce. Absolutely fresh and delicious. Service was great. It was a excellent way to unwind and start enjoying our vacation in France.

We visited by chance on a cold Sunday in November, most of the restaurants were closed and we were greeted warmly and took advantage of the open fire. Thankfully the staff spoke excellent English so my poor French wasn't challenged. The food and wine was excellent and we couldn't manage a dessert. We would definitely visit again.

A month later and my husband is still talking about this place. The decor was lovely, the server friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. We highly recommend it.

It was a cold wet night in November when we entered Le Pommier to find a cosy wood fire helping to create a lovely atmosphere for the evening. The service was attentive and friendly and suggestions were spot on. The wine list is not big but the selection is excellent and reasonably priced. My baked apple dessert was superb.

Just came back from Normandy, we had diner here on Nov 15. I had the duck, which was outstanding, my wife had the scallops which was equally as good. The street is picture perfect old world French, and this resturant and a very nice Ambience. The dessert was some kind of apple tour and was outstanding. The staff was very... More

On a quiet November Sunday and Monday evening, there are not too many opportunities for dinner in Bayeux. Our landlord confidently directed us to Le Pommier for the Sunday evening. We did not require any directions on the Monday as we were sure to have another good meal at the Pommier. The menu, even if there are only a few... More

Good traditional French cuisine. Open 7 days a week including for dinner on Sunday evenings, which enabled us to spend all daylight hours (without stopping for lunch) at the Normandy Landing Beaches on the Sunday and subsequently enjoy a good dinner that evening at Le Pommier Restaurant (when many other eating places are closed Sunday evenings).
