Description: N’Autre Monde restaurant just two steps from the Grand Place brings you the world’s cuisines in a warm, modern setting. The dining room is a fabulous blend of pink walls, exposed brick, Louis XV chairs, chandeliers, downlighters and dramatic flower displays. Self-taught chef David Beve puts his fascination with the world’s cultures to great use in his monthly-changing menus, utilizing all the flavours of the planet with a special focus on the Caribbean and Asia, filtered through his own imagination. Dishes might include courgette flowers stuffed with salmon accompanied with red pepper coulis, roast duck breast with Szechuan pepper and rhubarb chutney, and waffle with mango compote and coulis and vanilla chantilly. The wine list is just as much a vagabond as the chef, with bottles from every wine-producing country, it seems, as well as the classic French regions. Finish your meal with a choice of coffees and teas from all over the globe. Hire the entire venue to seat up to 35 for lovely banquets or smart seminars.

Went there with my partner during our weekend trip to Lille. We tried the sampler menu. ++Great taste, fresh products ++excellent value for money. Overall we tasted 6 dishes, a nice bottle of Sincerre, coffees and dessert wines for 90 Eur/pax +We liked the hot starters and enjoyed the duck. Extensive wine card at elevated prices. - Space is rather... More

Was recommended to us by a couple we met in a restaurant at lunchtime so we went for dinner. We had a calamari salad and a prawn ball salad, wonderful. For main, we had a pork fillet and a seabass which my wife was confident was the best bass she had ever tasted! Great wine list and wonderful atmosphere, do... More

Many restaurants in Lille are not open on Sunday night for dinner, so we decided on this one. It was a GREAT decision. Very good food and the service was professional and courteous. We only speak a little french but the waitress helped us through our selection with a description of the menu items. We had the shrimp and steak... More

The room feels a little bandbox, with its upholstered chairs and ribbon colors, but the service and food feel smart not stiff. Savory foods are modern and never less than yummy, but desserts can be skipped. We started with the smoked salmon maki. As a little taste providing one crisp nugget for each of us 5, it was tantalizing. But... More

We went here for a sunday lunch without reservation. We were welcomed by a very friendly and professional waiter (co-owner we suppose). There are different menus but we chose from the list. Asparagus salad, swordfish tartare and grilled swordfish with fennel salad: all ingredients were of high quality, cooked with respect for the product and presented in a modern way.... More

The setting is great. The restaurant has old brick walls, a big roaring fire, exposed beams and a lovely, rustic atmosphere. The food is, I suspect, love it or hate it...I did not enjoy my meal. It was well cooked, but the falvour combinations did not suite my palate. Coquilles in vanilla sauce; pork in raspberry sauce - some people... More

We went back to N'Autre Monde for Sunday lunch, having eaten there one evening 3 years ago and raved about it. On Sundays there is no menu and prices a la carte are more expensive and reduced our value-for-money rating. The restaurant is tiny, in a street near Grand Place and not that easy to find. We had a tiny... More

A great little place where one of the co-owners is in attendance every night taking a hands on and knowledgeable interest in explaining the menu and superbly backed by his excellent waitress. Terrific flavoursome cooking-we had the beefsteak and the rack of lamb, both beautifully produced by a chef who clearly knows how to combine ingredients and takes pride in his... More

Really excellent, imaginative food in central location in Lille Old Town. The restaurant is small so booking is essential. The staff are able to translate dishes into English if requested, but it is not the type of restaurant with an English menu! Highly recommended.
