Description: Lille is now only 80 minutes from London by Eurostar. Le Compostelle is located in the old city centre, and the restaurant is the ideal place to combine shopping and gastronomy. This former relay from Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle which dates back to the 16th century has become a gourmet paradise.

We visited this restaurant recently and have to say to meal was fantastic. I started with scallops and they were cooked to perfection. Steak Rosini was just as good for my main course. I couldn't fault the service the surroundings or the meal. Excellent. So nice to go to a restaurant that has such high standards.

The steep spiral staircase is not for the feint hearted. We were seated and comfortable and getting ready for lunch when we were then told to move one floor higher. This seemed a very strange manoeuvre. The lamb was tough with lots of gristle, but the dessert was beautifully served on slates and thus saved the lunch from being a... More

We first visited this restaurant some years ago and had a wonderful experience so when we decided to revisit Lille we telephoned to make a reservation. However when we arrived there was no reservation. As the restaurant was completely empty they found us a table behind reception (not the best place). The food was sloppily presented and the waiters over... More

Visited this restaurant for dinner recently. We chose a Sunday evening, which is traditionally quiet in France. There were only 4 tables occupied and only one waiter on duty but he was very efficient and courteous. The food was very good, if a little expensive, and I think on a busier night, the atmosphere and ambience would be lovely. I... More

A group of us went, we all went upstairs. The food was nice, it cost us over 30Euro for a 3 course meal. The only problem was the waitresses didn’t speak English, so we had to wait for a waiter, who could understand us. We only spoke a little French, so our meals were delayed. Most of us were getting... I took my partner to Lille for the weekend to celebrate her....errrr....a special birthday. Le Compostelle was recommended by the Carlton Hotel, where we were staying. And I have to say the restaurant was stunning. The service was impeccable, as was the food. The presentation is rather modern, which is not normally my style. But I am now a convert,... More

Dinner for two with my mum having had a recommendation from a work colleague. Very affordable meal- we opted for the fish mains (sea bass and cod fillet), no dessert or starter. As one of the locations of the Knights of Templar, the setting is quite unusual! The service is commendable, they even have a full English menu which includes... More

I'd booked this restaurant to celebrate my partner's 60th. Although the building itself is interesting, the same cannot be said for the food. Service was very poor indeed - in fact I got the impression that the staff couldn't have cared less if we were there or not. First impressions were not good - a member of staff smoking at... More

While in Lille on a business trip, my partner and I wanted to find somewhere a bit cozier for an evening together. We got many recommendations off of local friends for places but instead we opted to eat here because of the good reviews online. We were not disappointed! The decor downstairs was gorgeous and a bit different - like... More

My wife and I found this restaurant during a short weekend break in Lille. Our table was downstairs and in a little alcove - a lovely atmosphere. The waitress and waiter serving us were both very pleasant and helpful. We had the Pilgrim menu which gave us a choice of several starters and main courses. My starter was smoked salmon... More
