Description: Since 1989 M. and Mme. Coué have been running this restaurant, situated in the heart of the historic old town of Lille just 5 minutes from the two stations and close to the Lion D'Or square. Based in a traditional old Lille house dating back to 1681, the dining room is an intimate space with old brick walls and beautiful beams. The food is generous, inspired and very tasty. Mme Coué manages the kitchen and produces delicious dishes such as beef fillet, stewed oxtail in red wine, foie gras ravioli or crisp skewers of snails and gazpacho. In the dining room, M. Coué is always on hand to assist with the wine list which features a carefully selected choice of regional French wines

We both eat the 46 Euro four course meal...the quality of the food was very good, and the surroundings in this old building were very comfortable. Service was efficient, but a little 'distant'. We think a very good find a short distance away from the crowds in the main squares.

Pleasant food and reasonable prices for Lille (which tends to be expensive). Booking essential at weekends and holidays. Seem to do a single sitting so no time pressure on the diner. Service was sluggish at times and we needed to grab the staff's attention twice - but to be fair the restaurant was full. We were sat upstairs just to... More

Dining room upstairs in this wonderful old building off the cobblestones in Lille. The menu is diverse enough to satisfy everyone with fish, scallops, beef, duck, veggies, etc. The food was very good - not over the moon good - but very nice and well presented. We started with a cheese puff that was wonderful and then had scallops and... More

We had a very nice six course dinner in the upstairs dining room. The service was perfect. Just when we'd have the thought our server would be there. He helped us choose a wine that would suit both our dinners. Our food was perfectly cooked and nothing was rushed. Our dinner took about 2.5 hours and it was one of... More

This is undoubtedly the best restaurant I've been to in France. From start to finish, everything made for a wonderful evening. The restaurant is fairly small and has a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The wine list offers plenty of choice and is reasonably priced. The food is unquestionably the highlight of the place. After a delicious amuse bouche, the "three salmons"... More

This is a lovely French restaurant with a great ambience. Food was lovely. Service a little slow but that was acceptable as we were out for dinner and didn't want to be rushed. Book for 9pm as doesn't get busy till then as the French eat late.

My partner’s and my long leisurely luxurious lunch on Friday at le Lion Bossu made the trip over on Eurostar from London to Lille one I’ve love to repeat weekly! Not only was the meal a delight - the perfectly cooked scallops added extra textural interest and flavour punch by the addition of hazelnut and truffle - and the house... More

Were seated on the first floor so can't confirm the comments about the temperature in the cellar. Restaurant was also rather empty so the service was fine. The food though was excellent. Can highly recommend the Iberian wild black pork as a main. And if you're into desserts try the cafe gourmand - espresso with four delightful mini desserts, beautifully... More

Yet again the restarurant and its staff provided a great dining experience. The food was superb, as it always is, the wine list varied and reasonably priced for the quality and the service was very good, even though the restaurant was busy. This was my 8th (or perhaps 9th) visit and the restaurant has never failed to impress. I will... More

The Service was very very slow... Quality standards were barely met, and for sure high quality expected for this type of restaurant was not absolutely met. Food average. Not worth the money spent.
