On a cold, rainy night, I was the only one waiting for a table. I was told 10-20 minutes. 45 minutes later, several groups that arrived after me had been seated, and I'd been told 5 minutes, then 2 minutes… 10 minutes later, I left.

On my visits to Lille over the years I have always enjoyed a meal at this traditional restaurant. On this occasion, dining in mid-afternoon (it serves food all day) I had fish soup, andouillette with chips, and a fig tart, washed down with a very reasonably priced bottle of Muscadet. All excellent and impeccably served.

We picked this from the Lonely Planet Guide but would not recommend. The menu was limited and expensive; the food was adequate although there were no vegetables on offer - chips with everything (thin or fat!). The service was fine and the surroundings interesting, although it was not particularly clean. It was quite cold and so we ate inside; unfortunately... More

Traditional French dining but the food will make you cry with delight. Superbly presented - in short an excellent "Find" but strangely not mentioned in either the Kirker tour bumf or the Carlton Hotel recommendations - wonder why?

I have heard about this place quite a lot having family in this area, and finally had the chance to try it. Service was nice, however a bit long. I took salmon, which was perfectly cooked, nice choice. My family members also enjoyed their meals. "The gourmand" was also nice, although not totally great. I was expecting something "more" from... Here on hotel recommendation had one of the worst meals anywhere. A sole dish was burnt black, the lamb appeared to have come from a very old animal indeed and was tough and full of gristle. Shrimp salad was an enormous mound of all sorts. As for the service , have never experienced such a surly reception. Couldn't wait to... More

Had early dinner here just before Christmas. Went two years ago and had carre d'agneau just excellent. As we'd just arrived and fancied a steak we got them to do a Tournedos without any sauces. Terrific. When I asked for Bearnais sauce it was clear they didn't have any but the chef prepared it from the ingredients he had. The... More

Absolutely wonderful - classic waiters in white jackets, preparing steak tar tar themselves. Gorgeous wine!
