Description: Meert is a "must see" in Lille's Old District, as much for its sweet pleasures as for its Louis XVI decor. The Chief and his team suggest recipes combining perfectly the creative tradition of Meert and produce from the market, carefully selected daily.

Spotted this restaurant when wandering around and popped in for a pastry and a pot of tea. The tearoom wasn't busy but the staff did seem to be running around a lot. We were served fairly quickly and everything we ordered was perfect. We did spot one couple who were not served get up and leave. Whilst we understood -... More

A top find in Lille - Meert is the perfect place for an early morning tea and cake. The service was excellent. The building was immaculate and decorated in late Louis 16th style. Fantastic.

Beautifully presented and flavoursome, accompanied by efficient service Cailiflower soup was delicious, as was the salmon.

This is a gorgeous old tea shop with cakes and pastries - and behind it, a beautiful salon du thé where you can have one of an enormous selection of teas and cakes. There is also a restaurant and an outdoor area for when the sun shines. Great cakes, unusual drinks and an atmosphere of the Fin de Siecle.

The food for breakfast/lunch/evening meal are all magnificent...end of story. Expensive for an evening meal but comparable I guess to the uk if you want quality.

Super. Lovely settings and tasty desserts. Service was not overly friendly and the prices are a lttle high as you would expect when seeing the place from the outside. Will deffinitly go again.

This is one of these places that never seem to change. A must-do if you enjoy old-fashioned chique. Tea in porcelain pots, plates with a golden rim and a monogramme. The desserts are scrumptous. The service is a bit arrogant, but it's part of the Meerts experience.

If you like sweets, biscuits, cakes, ... and lovely flavored the ... then this place is really fun. Probably you have to queue for quite some time ... but it's worth waiting. Beautiful building, nice interior out of the past (where the 'noblesse' was certainly at home ... but I with my jeans also) ... quick professional waiters ... and... More
