We did a visit in Lille, and passing in front of Meert Patisserie we can't help to stop and stare at the fantastic desserts shown. We entered for coffee and dessert. Great service, really kind waiters. I had sort of lemon pie: i already had high expectation but it was even better! if you are in Lille, this place really... More

The pastries and cakes are out of this world! Prepare to line up and wait here though. If you don't want to wait it seems the 'take away' patisserie section had a smaller line. However, on a sunday it seems they don't bake any new stuff as by the end of the day there wasn't much left. Well worth it... More

we stopped by in the afternoon for coffee and the famous Meert waffle. It is a beautiful old building and seems to be frequented by tourists and locals alike. Although the waffle filling was a bit sweet for my taste, it was still fun to try this local specialty. Due to their reputation, it's a bit more expensive than other... More

Me & my husband visited here as we had heard it was a 'must do' on trip advisor. It is a very nicely presented tea shop, but it is very expensive. We sat out the back of the restaurant after queuing for 25 minutes. When we were seated it seemed that there were plenty of seat and that perhaps they... More

This restaurant is beautifully appointed, the decor is classy and the atmosphere, quietly decadent. From couples drinking champagne to friends sipping tea, coffee, chocolate etc it appeared to be both a meeting place for locals and a quiet respite for tourists.

Rather like a Viennese restaurant but with its own Franco-Belge twist, this is a place to enjoy .I suppose like Fortnum and Mason you have to experience it and I think for what it offers it is not at an outrageous price. We only visited for afternoon tea but the menu for the restaurant looked interesting. Oh! The confectioneries ,... More

It's hard to believe that it was over Two years ago that my wife and i came to Meerts for Morning tea and pattiserie. Meerts is one of if not the oldest of it's kind in all of France, with branches now in Paris. As i was on my own and feeling a little peckish after having caught the early... More

Hot beverages, chocolates, and waffles among new friends on a blustery fall day in Lille. The tea room is decadent, the prices are reasonable, and the surroundings are just lovely in this old establishment. We enjoyed a hot chocolate, chai tea, and a cappuccino with chocolates and an original (vanilla-flavored) waffle...which I expected to be served hot but was room... More

Only had a coffee there, but the place is lovely. Love the decorations. The waiters are relatively nice for French standards. Not to miss on a visit to Lille.

Great place and great cakes but wasted five and a half euros on a pot of sencha green tea. They haven't got a clue about tea. About three times too many leaves stewed in a tiny pot of overly hot water. Total waste of good tea. When I asked for more hot water it took ten minutes to come. Tried... More
