Have to visit!

This is a Lille institution! We sat outside in the courtyard and had tea and the most delicious pastries. Very decadent. Yes it's expensive but you have to come, just once. The macaroons are divine too.

Had coffee and a pastry here last week. Beautiful surroundings and luxurious pastries. Didn't know what to choose. Eyes bigger than tums - chocolate heaven, fruitiliscious and heavenly surroundings. Not cheap but well worth the experience.

This has to be on everybody's to do list when visiting Lille. It was our first visit but our friends 2nd visit. Our waiter was brilliant, he was happy to answer any questions and as I was undecided, he took me to the display of gorgeous looking cakes to help me decide. I opted for Le Printanier, which is coconut... More

Really bad service, staff without smile. Had to wait for twenty minutes for coffee while icecream and cakes where melting and half eaten. Asked twice but that didn't give any effect. Had big complain and final got 15% off. But the calm relaxing experience we were expecting didn't happen.

Everybody seems to go there for the same reason. You queue and wait 20 mins to be seated, its loud-ish, the coffee nothing special and the deserts are so-so... tasty, sure, but wait for 30 mins before you get it and then "no wow" factor? The biggest surprise was the bill; would not go there again.

Firstly Lille is a wonderfully atmospheric typical regional (Flemish) city - walking through the classic cooled square and streets past boutique wine caves and shops to get to a coffee shop started in 1761 is highlight in itself. But having a 'high tea' (my favourite being Chocolat Viennoise is a very special experience of a lovely and under appreciated French... More

Great pastries. The vanilla waffle is amazing, get one if you are in Lille. I got the pastries to go, so I can't comment on the service of the restaurant.

No trip to Lille is complete without a visit to Meert we all feel! We couldn't wait to take our friends there.. who hadn't been to Lille before.. and they were delighted that we did! The only problem is deciding which pastry to go for... they are all SO tempting. We sat inside.. it was a very sunny day and... More

WE didn't eat in the restaurant but had tea in the tea room and some of their absolutely amazing cakes. They are so pretty you don't want to eat them but we forced ourselves. Divine!
