We arrived on spec. Full mid week of locals. A great steak onglet with frites and ratatouille, just as you are getting full they seem to bring more. Delicious such a shame we had no room for desert. Go with appetites.

We did not book and following advice from fellow tripadvisor readers, I had dinner there with my mum and it was a great experience. We opted for the special l'onglet - shallots and chefs special. The steak came with fries, salad, ratatouille and a portion of bread top! The bill came to just under €60 for the two of us,... More

We went to Lille late 2012 to catch up with some friends from work. We booked Le Fossile via the hotel reception. The entrance is a little odd, it's through a little door, with curtains behind it. Once in however, the place is rustic and somewhat charming. We both ordered the steak which arrive promptly. The quality of the meat... More

Went for lunch and had the set menu at €12.50 which included a 50cl caraffe of wine (between two). The food was basic but authentic, filling and good value for money. There was a real buzz about the place due to the fact that it was rammed so you need to book if you have time constraints. Probably not the... More

good service, menu focusing on meat dishes, in particular beef. they master their specialties, cooking was perfect (they're not even asking how you like your meat). not enough wines sold by the glass.

Based on tripadviser ate here and would have again but it was closed on Saturday and Sunday evenings we had left. Excellent meat ( try the L'onglet) also good cheese and wine, nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Recommended

The service was attentive and not too intrusive. I understand that their speciality is L'onglet de Boeuf, mine and my wife's was excellent as were the side dishes. Eat in the old cellar which was very pretty, started to get busy after eight. The wine was very good. Would go again.

I think we were the only non locals here and made to feel very welcome. The food was simple but well done. Highlight is the Armagnac rack going back to the 1930s so you can have one of the year you were born! Portions were very generous, and prices reasonable. It was a very cool bistro
