What a great meal!

A business group stopped into this restaurant for a late dinner. None of us spoke English and the menu was only in French. Then our server stepped in, with nearly perfect English, eager to help, and loaded with recommendations. She was fantastic! Had a steak with trimmings, hands down the best meal... read more

We had dinner here twice during a short cultural stay in Lille. Delicious food and extremely friendly service. The foie gras starter (served hot), the snails (tender and flavourful for a change), the pot-au-feu, the kidneys (exquisite), the côte de boeuf - everything we picked was excellent. Yes, one is rather squashed and the restaurant is perhaps a little rustic,... More

We went here as it had the best reviews of any place within walking distance. I had a goat cheese salad that came with duck meat, fresh radish, beets, carrots and a green mix. It was insanely good. I also had the steak with onions (I wish I remembered the name in french). It was perfect. This is a small... More

This is a very small authentic French restaurant. The service was good & the waiter spoke some english but it was "lost in translation", his version of "mixed meat " was not what we expected- it turns out to be different parts of the pig ie.the offal; which my husband does not touch-Luckily he had finished his starters of trio... The restaurant looks 'traditional' French with a small terrace outside. Staff is friendly and speaks English met strong French accent and that is really charming. We ordered the cote de boeuf for 2 persons and it was great. A bit too red, but we asked to cook it a little longer and it turned out medium rare. Very nice place... More

After reading good reviews, we went to see if there was a table free around 8:30 on a Saturday night. Surprised to find there was and we took seats outside, bro didn't get too much ambience as quite a few cars kept driving up the road, to find it blocked, then reversed! Rather an indifferent (arrogant?) young waiter who wasn't at... More

Visit on May 15th, diner, table with 6 persons Restaurant is in an old traditional building located near Place du Theatre. If a table reserved on the first floor near the window, you enjoy a nice view on the historical buildings. Menu from the Beaujolais region, also some dishes depending on day to day products (f.i. the rilettes which we... More

A very pleasant small restaurant which caught my eye in the afternoon. The menu is very French as you would expect but good. The charcuterie plate was good and great starter to the meal. I went for a 'pot au feu' which was enormous coming in it's own casserole dish. It was ok but well cooked. The wine list is... More

Had dinner here with my wife and daughter during a visit to this great town. The place is thoroughly French in terms of food and service. No concessions to quality and tradition, but in a very friendly way. The Chef was charming and very helpful, food was good and plentiful. Great wines at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

A small establishment, but with character. The main interest is the list of Beaujolais wines available by the glass. I had the Morgon, a fine example of gamay For lunch I had a salad of goats cheese on toast with some smoked duck breast Very satisfactory!
