The dining room is resplendent with murals, carvings and chandeliers but despite that doesn't stand on ceremony - we were hardly dressed to impress when we popped in to see if they could seat us without a reservation and received a warm welcome. Service is prompt but not rushed. The roast chicken was delicious and served with potato purée that... More

If you are visiting the region, skip the menu du jour and go straight for the cassoulet, a typical dish from the region with duck, sausage, beans and other vegetables cooked slowly to bring out all the flavors. The menu changes with the seasons, with some all year staples such as shrimp wrapped in a philo dough. Reserve in advance... More

This authentic brasserie will take you to another time in Toulouse history. The interior boasts a mixture of art nouveau and baroque. It is truly a gem in the pink city's history in culinary arts. Situated in the heart of the city, it's hard to miss. The word itself "Bibent" means "drink good" in the original Occitan language, which explains... More

I knew this when it was a city centre bar and bistro. Spectacular interior decor from the early 20th century but a bit run down. Now owned by a French TV chef I was expecting great things. A very good renovation job has been done with the decor. It is now in really good shape, but I feel that the... More

We were quite pleased with our meal at Le Bibent. We enjoyed traditional local cuisine such as cassoulet and riz au lait. It was beautifully prepared and nicely presented by the efficient and welcoming staff. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and has and interesting history, perhaps having been the location where Serbian student members of the Black Hand plotted a... More

Enjoyed a dinner here sitting outside in early November. Location is perfect. A glass of champagne, foie gras, veal and a nice glass of Rioja. Fantastic evening. Even managed a dessert of flan. Thoroughly recommend.

We were staying nearby and thought the food looked excellent and in a great position right on the Place du Capitole. The waiters spoke good English and the service was efficient and faultless. I ordered the Gambas and unusually they were peeled and coated in a light crispy batter and delicious. The wine was reasonably priced and overall a great... More
