The food at La Gourmandine always looks exquisite and the taste doesn't disappoint, ever. They are particularly good at fish and desserts - the Cafe Gourmand was specially good value, with four puds (almost full size) so no difficult choices to make.

Four of us had a great lunch here after a busy morning walking through the Toulouse old town. The location is really good - just nearby are the wonderful covered markets at Place Victor Hugo and it's just a short stroll from Pl Capitole. Two of us chose from the lunch menu, and that was both very nice and good... More

Toulouse abounds with places to eat at lunchtime, many of which are unimaginative or over-priced or even both. The Gourmandine is an exception and is deservedly very busy between 12.30 and 13.30. Despite this, the service is polite, even friendly, and one does not usually wait too long between courses. The choice of dishes on the lunch menu (for 16.90... More

We stumbled on La Gourmandine because we had arrived quite late in Toulouse and it was near the hotel. Wow what a gem! From the outside it didn't look much but the food was amazing. We had gorgeous scallops, amazing fois gras lollipops and delicious local ham and egg starters followed by a huge steak, a wonderful steak tartare, an... More

I chose La Gourmandine having lived in Toulouse for many years, and looking for somewhere a bit different to celebrate my birthday. This fitted the bill perfectly. The colourful decor is contemporary, but cosy, and the staff very friendly and polite, and very attentive in a subtle way. 9 of us enjoyed the €27 menu, which is exceptional value for... More

We arrived early so had tapas and Gaillac in the adjoining bar of the same name. Excellent shared gambas entree, sole and St Jacques to follow, good cheese and coffee. Service was attentive and cheerful, restaurant full of French parties enjoying good food. Not cheap but still value for money, will definitely go again.

The food was contemporary and delicious. Great presentations and faultless preparation. For 27 euros, the menu included a duck dish that had a confit springroll on one side of the plate and some cured duck breast tranches on the other. Both were delicious because of the way they were prepared and accessorized. my main was a pork "filet mignon", with... More

La Gourmandine is my go-to restaurant. Really nice atmosphere in one of Toulouse's best area. Great outdoor seating that will give you a taste of Toulousain's daily life and habits. Nice bar/ restaurant concept that will give you the opportunity to enjoy a good glass of wine with some cold cuts/ cheese, before moving on to the restaurant part. The... More

The restaurant is located on a quite street and had great outdoor space. The menu offered many choices. Their "formules meals" offer a good value. The food was not very heavy as some restaurants in town are famous for. It had creative dishes but the ingredients seem to be fresh as it should since the largest market in town is... More
