The restaurant is well signed off the main road, it is quiet with a lovely courtyard garden when the weather is good. Our lunch was fantastic, the service prompt what more can you ask!

Top food in a top class restaurant with very accomplished service. Perfectly balanced meal left us both feeling very happy. We went for the lighter and cheaper €30 set menu. We both had the gravadlax which came with a delightful green salad with bursts of red peppercorns and a unique tomato sorbet - perhaps not to everyone's tastes but I... More

We went here while visiting friends who live in the area. We one of the menus and started with an excellent foie gras. This is one of our favorite dishes and we are very picky about how it is cooked. I have to say this is one of the best we've had. The rest of the meal was excellent, too.... More

La Garenne is situated about 10 minutes north of Cahors on the Brive major road, but set back so is quiet and tranquil. The dining room is an old stone barn nicely decorated. The standard of cuisine is high and good value. The staff are really pleasant with ready smiles. We are French speakers but they made the effort to... More

From the moment you arrive to be warmly greeted by Madame Carrendier and seated, in summer on the lovely shady terrace, or in winter in the warm dining room, a great experience is assured. Impeccable and friendly service, an interesting wine list, and Michel Carrendier's exquisite food. This summer, try the morue cannelloni, the mullet, the delicious veal - or... More

Not the easiest of locations to find (exit 57 from the A20 motorway north of Cahors) but well worth a small detour. We first discovered La Garenne a decade ago, and try to plan our travel to the south of France via Cahors just so as to be able to return to enjoy a meal here. In the summer meals... More

We've eaten here many, many times - everything from lovely summer lunches to celebratory New Year's Eve meals and have never been disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and highly efficient, the ambiance is excellent and we've always found the well presented food to be first class. There is undoubtedly a good choice of restaurants in and around Cahors but... More

Sunday Lunch ....with friends. After the overpriced ordinary food that we experienced in our recent trip to engerland it was wonderful to go back to a good old fashioned, friendly proper french restaurant. The restaurant was full but the service was exemplary ...the chef came out to see if all was OK and had a conversation with one of my... More

Four of us ate here on the 11th of August and had a beautiful meal. This was one else of the only restaurants we could find open on a Sunday night but we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is set in a beautiful old house just off the main road into Cahors from the northern exit of the autoroute so easy... More

La Garenne has a good reputation locally but choice can be limited. The new menu (perhaps not so new) offers an nice choice of à la carte or menu options to suit most tastes and budgets. Our group of 4 enjoyed a truly delicious and beautifully presented diner, outdoors on the secluded and quiet terrace. There is a good choice... More
