Found this restaurant by accident having a stroll through Cahors. Great location, adjacent to the river and - at least from outside- good view of a fast flowing weir. Attracted by the formule which suggested three courses for 15 Euros, we thought we'd give it a try. Inside was a bit basic with a seemingly brusque patron, but underneath lay... More

The owner is a real character very polite but direct,no frills. Food was ok, set 4 courses 2 choices for main course, meat or fish when we went, no further description from the owner who I don't think speaks English Overall a very entertaining evening but don't expect haute cuisine, more simple French.

Went for a girls lunch and was not disappointed. The menu varies every day and you have the choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts with a choice of local wines at 3 euros a glass. A two course meal with wine and coffee cost me 22 euros. The dishes are original and full of taste - will... More

the concept behind the auberge is that you eat what we made today - full stop, there is no menu, there is no a'la' carte, there are no options. if you happen to come with kids, like we did - and they happen not to be able to eat something, you have a problem. the place is run by a... More

Dropped in to this place by accident what a wonderful surprise my very limited French did not prepare us for the delights to follow. A first course of soup and then entree mains cheese and desert with wine and water very quirky mine host. Not a place for a quick lunch or fancy menu but great honest food at superb... More

Just had five courses, bottle of water, carafe of wine ,bread and coffee for two of us--->cost 36 euros. Not at all fancy and le patron hands out plates like a croupier deals cards in a casino but for atmosphere and a good local home feed go here. Not fancy but cheap---well worth a visit. Not for the faint hearted... More

Offers inside and external terrace space, situated upstairs above the highly-rated Cuisine Cote sud restaurant and overlooking the river. Dated decor, but we were there for the food!! We went on a Wednesday lunchtime and had the menu du jour for 15.50 euro, plus a pichet of local wine.Good home-cooked local style food, plainly presented, every table served single handed by... Despite choosing the last market day before Christmas, the restaurant was virtually empty! This is normally a very bad sign in France and, with hindsight, perhaps we should have made our excuses.... In a room full of tables, we were given the choice of two only and left to stew whilst our host went back to chatting with some friends... More

We arrived early but that was no problem. The menu advertised at the bottom of the entrance steps was clearly very limited so we knew that it was likely to be take it or leave it! We were seated and wine and water duly brought to the table whilst we took in the surroundings. The first course of vegetable soup... More

We ran into friends while shopping and they recommended this place for lunch. It began with a delicious vegetable soup (very tasty). Next was a salad with warm duck gizzard - very good. (If you tend to be shy about trying gizzard, just jump in - this was wonderful.) The choice for main course was roast pork or a fish/potato... More
