My partner took me here as a welcome home meal after I'd spent two weeks away, and it was nice to return to authentic French cooking. We had the 24 euros menu - he chose the rouget and I took the salad for starters; both were not bad but nothing to shout about. However, the main course was outstanding -... More

This was our main choice during our short stay in Metz. The owner greeted us all with a handshake and I felt very well taken care of. The specials were written on a mirrored wall and some were ordered by our group. They were quite good. It was classic French fare, meaning Americans may not recognize or find certain items... More

First of all, the owner greet everyone with a handshake and a smile! It was packed by 7:30 and we loved the ambiance. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable. We are coming back to Metz in October for only one night and this is the restaurant we are choosing for our one meal. It was fantastic!

We went for the set menu at €20 per person . We still had a reasonable choice with a good selection in all three courses . The Pork I had for main course was so soft and tasty , my husbands steak was tender and tasty. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the staff friendly . The food was... More

We went for dinner with friends(11) the restaurant was full and the service was perfect! The pwner took the orders and made some nice suggestions! I did not see any table to wait or complain! Moreover the owner make sure to ask if all was ok and shake your hand before you leave the restaurant. Typical french atmosphere!

This is a typical french bistro! We were warmly greeted at the door by the friendly owner. Our waiter was also very pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was busy and it was very obvious that this was a popular local choice. Our meal was great as was our wine. The locals sitting next to us were equally friendly. Perfect ending... More

I went there with some friends. We didn’t have much time, so we practically got into the first place that was open (we hand’t realized it was 14 July). My very first impression wasn’t very good. I live in France but my friends were from Russia, Germany and England, and I felt that this could be a problem for the... More

It was very hot in Metz when we stayed overnight in July and decided to try Le Bistrot de G. The tables outside were all full but the patron offered one in 5 to 10 minutes if we wanted to go inside and have a drink at the bar. As soon as we felt the blast of the air conditioning... More
