This restaurant carries a 3 generation long tradition in serving meat. We had brochettes. They did not meet the standards of a place specialized in meat. They were covered with bacon and the taste was good but the meat quality was not outstanding. It was not as soft as a restaurant focused on meat for generations should be serving. The... More

A restaurant run by three successive generations of butchers, L'Aloyau is a true find in Metz. The menu is traditional and celebrates the region and its gastronomy, as well as its close cultural connections to livestock trade. There, you'll find such culinary classics as tête de veau, rognons, escargot, fois gras, magret, various cuts of beef, etc. - all prepared... More

The food here was pretty good, my wife's steak excepted and the wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. Service was slow, especially when it came to paying the bill(I had to ask 3 times)and when it came, the wine had been missed off. I did point this out and our "reward" for honesty was a round of mirabelle liqueurs... More

If you like meat and traditional french food, do not hesitate, it's the place to meat... The menu and the "Ardoise" are both fool of nice preparations where meat, vegetables, and design are mixed. The team is customer oriented and friendly. The wines are interesting too, and if you are balancing, just ask the boss for an advise. The prices... More

We really enjoyed our meal at L'aloyau. Simple food prepared with care and served without fuss. The entrecôte was especially good as was the bread. Lovley warm atmosphere. The cochon au lait was delicious and the pinot noir from the Moselle region complimented the food well.

We didn't have any trouble getting a table without reserving first although the restaurant really filled up after our 8:00pm arrival - on a Wednesday night. The welcome was warm and pleasant, the service very good. We ordered the Special of the Evening for 27 euros, which included an entree, the main course and dessert. The food was plentiful! We...
