Charming but slightly weird

The food was very good, but the portion sizes varied wildly. Also, the dandelion leaf salad was interesting and peppery.

was pointed to this place after asking in a bar for a good restaurant in Nancy, had walked past a few places but they were mainly empty so asked in a bar and they said to go here, walked in and was warmly welcomed by the staff, quickly shown to a table and offered menus and drinks, the place was... We went here on a business trip with around 10-15 people and had a great time. The food was delicious (I actually tried the dandelion salad - fantastic!) and I regretted a lot that I was already stuffed when the dessert arrived becaused it looked and tasted so good. The only thing I didn't like was that when I went... More

Wanted local cuisine , set menu and not expensive. We got local cuisine, a set menu and not expensive. And we liked it , good food and efficient service, wholesome without the chefey bits. Mature crowd who were not texting or on there smartphone the whole time. Would return

The Best Western we stayed at, recommended this place to us and I'm so glad that we took their word for it! We decided to go all out and ordered a 5-course meal with wine served with every course (except dessert) and followed with coffee. This was my first introduction to "French cuisine" and the entire experience was a delight.... More

If you're lunching here. 'Pissenlits' means 'dandelion' in English so it seemed churlish not to have the dandelion & lardon starter. Which was nice, with the distinctive bitter taste of the flower much in evidence. As were the lardons. All pound-and-a-half of them. Or that's what it felt like. The duck main course was also very good, and with my... More

Close to the market in the centre of town, this is a well known, established, brasserie style restaurant. If you go à la carte - beware- the portions are enormous. My starter of fried whitebait consisted of at least 500g of fish accompanied by an excellent tartare sauce. I needed friends to help me out and even then we couldn't... More

The food was disappointing and slapdash. A fish pie featured no fish, only some rubbery farmed prawns buried in bland, unseasoned mashed potato. The salade de pissenlit (dandelion) seemed a safe bet given the name of the restaurant but what arrived was a plate of heavily trimmed, very yellow stalks. Pissenlit should be green, leafy and crunchy, not yellow and... More

I read the reviews for Les Pissenlits, and was determined to eat here. We were not disappointed, the portions were considerable, we were unable to finish our main course, but after a suitable delay, we managed a dessert. My wife started with prawns on a sea of crushed peppers, onions etc, excellent, while I had the house pate, we both... More
