Friendly and pleasant

We (two adults, three teens) ate here on a stopover on our way south. The restaurant was very busy but the service was prompt and friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Went for lunch on a Friday (always a good idea to book, especially Friday lunchtime as this is the busiest lunch service of the week - by 13.00 people were waiting for a table to come free - sustained by a drink and snacks). Beef cheeks and tete de veau were both very good, followed by cafe gourmande and mousse... More

lovely little restaurant definitely worth the visit. Local & traditional cuisine at a reasonable price for the huge portions served. A must for meat & ofal lovers - but choice for everyone. The 'help yourself' dish of paté for starters & chocolate mousse for dessert is a real treat and surprisingly enough people dont over-indulge probably due to the large... More

The best grub in France so far. Lovely city. Warm welcome not pretensius at all. Great regional food...Huge portions...proper French food. So the food was 10 out of 10... The service was too. I have a huge dog he was allowed inside admiring the food. I speak ok french the staff really helped to explain what things where. Bringing the... More

As mentioned it's not haute cuisine - but there is a good selection of well cooked food with a variety of typical French fare . Great busy atmosphere - reasonably priced wine and great desserts - especially the chocolate mousse which they just let you serve yourself as much as you want . Would definately return . No English menus... More

Reviews say Vietnamese and French. Didn't see any hint of Eastern influences but what we had was good quality French fare. Well prepared and very tasty. Reasonably varied menu with veal much in evidence. No pretensions, just good food. Very busy on a Monday night. Friendly, efficient service. €70 for 3 courses with a carafe of wine. Can't go wrong.

This pompous restaurant has been relying on its very convenient location for far too long. Its old tired menus serving up mediocre fare can be described as convenient and not much more to say. The meat is hardly ever caramelised properly appearing grey and broiled and always served on a great swathe of mashed potato that dominates the plate. It... More

They still cook the food here rather than microwave prepurchased stuff. Its very 'local' and we had the set menu on two occasions which was good value. The desserts are great as is the cafe gourmand.

We make a point of eating here every time we go to France - 5 times per year, and it's 20 miles from where we stay, but the experience is worth it. It's based on a typical French restaurant catering for the local workers, be they professionals or from the local market (itself worthy of a visit), but has recognised... More
