Caricature of itself!

Recommended by our hotel close by, we wandered into Monsieur Edouard just as it had opened at 7.30 pm. Within 5 minutes the place was packed with locals, so do book (can be done online). With red and white gingham tablecloths and vintage drink adverts on the walls, we half-expected to see the cast... read more

Arrived to find that the reservation I had made in person did not result in a reserved table. We were seated in a poor cramped table below the bar and very close to the entrance door. The three specials were all steak (bavette, faux filet and entrecote) and the wine by the glass was limited to three choices (red, rose... More

Arrived in Limoges in the evening and needed to go for dinner. We decided on this restaurant which was not far from our hotel. It is a definite locals' restaurant, French ambiance, bistrot type with all sorts of 40-60's framed renouveau adverts. The atmosphere is good and relaxing, the service was at a good pace and very friendly, they speak... More

We were recently in the Limoges area, staying at a farmhouse without meal service. Unbeknownst to us, it was a holiday, and most restaurants were closed. We drove around a bit, finally finding Monsieur Edouard, the only place we found open. Fortunately, we lucked out and had a very good meal. When we arrived, we were the only patrons, so... More

Recommended by the manager of the Inter-Hotel around the corner, the restaurant is a small, typically French style bistro with a great menu selection. Front of House manager / (owner?) is a little quirky and overbearing but grows on you. Food & wine was SENSATIONAL and inexpensive. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

A Sunday night and myself and 2 teenage sons very hungrily entered this place on a recommendation from Art hotel around the corner (which is also good) 3 top meals and a beer or 2 later we left mightily impressed and cursing the fact that neighbourhood restaurants as good as this in England are very hard to find For the... Meat lovers, unite! Edouard's sense of hospitality and the food offered by his chef work great. Had a great meal with the family for a very reasonable price.

I came to eat here on a Friday night at roughly 9 pm. The host, who I can only assume to be the owner, was rather gregarious (and a tiny bit annoying) but certainly efficient. I ordered two items, the escargot in cream sauce and the poached egg served with cream and smoked salmon. The first item was wonderful but... More

Excellent food, reasonable good price, friendly people. We, family of 4 with young childern (8,13), ordered the menu du jour (3 plates, €19,50}. Perfectly tastety food. I had the mixed meat starter, followed by rumpsteak &delicious baked potatoes and finnished with a redfruit tiramisu. Highly recommened!

Excellent food, great atmosphere, very good value for money. Close to a number of good hotels. A wide ranging menu serving local dishes.
