Ask Michelin for restaurants in wonderful Uzes, France, and Hostellerie Provençale pops up first, with its Parenthese resto. Perhaps the upper terrace is a special experience, but we were there on a rainy evening -- and the dining room at street level is crowded and stuffy with small hard chairs. We really enjoyed the recommended local red wine, but the... More

We had a really enjoyable meal here June 3, 2014. We were seated on the third floor terrace (reached by elevator) and found it enchanting to watch the light fade as the many swallows swooped over the old tile roofs. We had the menu at 37 euros which included a complementary slice of a foie gras, egg loaf topped with... More

On a recommendation we took some friends for dinner on the beautiful roof terrace dining room at the Hostellerie. The views and atmosphere were a treat, especially watching the sun go down over Uzes. The only problem was that the service was ridiculously slow and drawn out, it was actually painful towards the end. It was as if the staff... More

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on the first. The menu is nicely varied from the usual provencale fare and every dish was delicious. Our waiter, the son of one of the owners, was very knowledgeable and helped us choose an excellent and reasonably priced local wine. Highly recommended

We experienced none of the rudeness some reviewers allude to. They have a nice wine list, and a limited menu. Everything about the meal was fine except the main courses. My wife's duck breast was too rare and tough. My calf's liver was very strong, like beef liver. We could not eat them. Everything else was delicious. Not a redo... More

The menu had four entree options, several involving offal (veal liver, blood pudding) so it might not be a good choice for picky eaters. We love foie gras, but the foie grad appetizers came with three 4 inch by 6 inch gigantic (kind of unappetizing) slices of the stuff; not a pâté but a dozen livers stacked on top of... More

We had a lovely dinner out on the balcony of this restaurant. Great food with attentive service. A bit pricey but well worth it when you're in that part of France.

We've been there a few times now and we have never been disappointed, you won't be either! Food is amazing, beautiful wine list, great atmosphere (oh so French!), very friendly service. Book with confidence! Great for a romantic date, a bit of a treat or a birthday. We stayed for the weekend in one of their charming rooms, I loved... More

We had dinner at La Parenthese. The menu was nice and the food was very good apart from the desserts which were pretty average. The main downside was the service. The host is quite arrogant and not friendly. You don't really feel welcome as soon as you step in. The prices are also a bit high.

We had the menu for EUR34 each and it was excellent. The four of us had the potimarron soup with crayfish and the rillettes de boeuf, followed by the duck, rabbit and red mullet. The meals were really well presented and very tasty. The desserts were heavenly - the trilogy of chocolate and the creme brulee were superb. The service... More
