We went to Uzes for market day and then decided to walk to lunch at L'Artemise. It turned out to a rather long walk from the market but we were rewarded with a lovely setting and delicious food. Our weather was sunny and warm so we sat outside on the patio. There is a set menu but it is based... More

Just heaven! Not much choice [fish or meat] but what we had was so lovely, in this beautiful setting in the hills. It's a surprise menu where you get what you're given, and I loved it all. Final delight was the marshmallow, and when I raved about it they brought me some more. Will certainly go back next year. Not... More

As a veggie going to France, I travel more in hope than expectation. Well it was hope realised at L'Artemise where a great 5 course tasting menu was served in a wonderful setting, with attentive, but not in your face staff. A more than decent distance is maintained between tables so you are not impacted by the smokers or the... More

This is expensive dining by local standards and the Friday night we chose there were only three tables occupied. The no choice menu was dull of charm and the flavours and textures subtle. The walls and woodwork were all painted in signature slate grey and to be frank it suited the atmosphere of the place Loosen up and celebrate your... More

We love Uzes, and we have now had two outstanding experiences at this oasis in an old stone building on the hill at the northeastern entrance to town. Definitely reserve, and plan to spend a minimum of two hours to savour the full menu experience. (No a-la-carte here.) With notice, they will happily cope with allergies. They have some of... More

Food was well prepared, light, lots of veg and fish (one of us doesn't eat meat). Wines recommended by the glass for each course were local and perfect match for food. Servers were informative, and explained each dish. Very pleasant atmosphere, everyone seemed very relaxed.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. As well as fabulous food, setting and service I'm giving this restaurant top marks for their flexibility in catering for an extremely awkward vegetarian. If you have dietary requirements, don't be out off by the surprise menu concept, just let them know in advance and let them wow you! We had... More

We've been meaning to have a meal here since it opened a few years back. We did not know what we've been missing! Beautiful setting. Service - friendly, efficient, well-paced. The food was - beginning to end - fantastic. One of the better meals we've had, based on the total experience.

We had lunch at L'Artemise on our honeymoon -- it was a perfect meal to celebrate. I loved the idea of a surprise menu based on local, seasonal ingredients and each course was exquisite. Despite the 'surprise' aspect, they were very accommodating to any individual requests. The service was excellent, the setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. It... More

We had heard mixed reviews about this restaurant & decided we had to test it for ourselves. Firstly the old building is delightful - modern mixed with the ancient. Despite a damp evening we were able to take a table outdoors protected under the stone arches with a view of the garden. Blankets were offered. The choice on the menu... More
