A Good Steer

Referred here for lunch by a local. Spectacular plat du jour of roast lamb with a gratin and haricots verts. Supplemented the meal with some fines de claires. We had some excellent banyuls as an aperitif and a glass of red (nice pour) with the meat. Too full for dessert,

If you come to perpignan you have to try the Sangria at this restaurant and the sea food pizza. Fast service and non stop.

Traditional Belle-Epoque (or Art Nouveau) restaurant. Eat inside to get the full experience. It's not cheap but the qualtiy of the food is good - best to go for typically French items (sea food, steak, duck breast, omlette, foie gras...) rather than Italian or American offerings! Although the pizza Calzone is great! If you want to eat in a restaurant... More

We had a simple lunch of Caesar salad and tagliatelle carbonara. Both meals were very mundane, lacking in flavour and freshness. I could cook them better myself and I am not a good cook.

I would liked to have given this 4.5 stars! Although this was one of the best meals I have had in France I could have wished for a less indifferent welcome (glasses and a small piece of tart were almost thrown on the table, but no water, or offer of drinks was made for about 10 minutes). There also seemed... More

This restaurant, long-time stalwart of the Guide Michelin, has slipped deliberately down-market in recent years and has sadly succumbed to the pizza routine (the peaceful little side alcove I always used to sit in is now the pizza oven!), but it still does the basics pretty well. The best meal to have here is oysters to start and the entrecote... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, as we wanted to try typical French cuisine. We had the foie Gras as a starter and then duck with a sweet/sour sauce...all of it was delicious. To top it off: Panna cotta with pineapple carpaccio....absolutely delicious!

Recommended by locals and well worth a visit... but don't be in a rush. On arrival I was put off as you need an iron lung to walk through the covered terrasse to get to the main restaurant. (This was the smoking area) The interior restaurant is large but they also had an outside seated area where I chose to... More

Arrived on a soaking wet March Sunday in Perpignan and the city was asleep except - Cafe Vienne. A superb place to find. Warm, great food, lots of local parties having fun and no sense of being rushed. Fab bottle of Cotes de Rousillon and delicious meal.

I entered this establishment unsure what to expect. Inside I found a good restaurant with an extensive and interesting menu. I chose a set carte of prawns on finely chopped tomato salad with beetroot jus, then Catalan baked cod on mashed potato followed by pear tart. With a half bottle of wine and coffee the bill came to a reasonable... More
