This is the finest restaurant I have eaten in, tucked away in Nimes. We ate here as a party of four and enjoyed impeccable service and world class food courtesy of Michel Kayser. We will be returning to Nimes simply to eat here again.

There is discipline and then there is perfection. This restaurant succeeds on every level. The staff is visibly proud and excited to be presenting the chef's creations and in pampering the guests. A magnificent setting outside of Nimes in a lovely home. Beautiful gardens surround the restaurant then you enter and are warmly received by the staff. Chef and owner,... More

Michel Kayser at Alexandre continues to impress with superbly prepared food, in his elegant and recently redecorated Garons restaurant. Standards this high are immensely hard to maintain, but the food here remains almost faultless. Notwithstanding a few very minor inconsistencies, the textures and flavours here are superbly judged and executed. We hope that Michel Kayser will continue to follow the... More

This restaurant has earned its two Michelin stars and compares favorably with three star restaurants such as De Librije in The Netherlands. The menu we chose had five courses not counting the small yogurt "refresher" in the middle. Each course was perfectly prepared and proportioned. We chose the wine arrangement meaning two glasses of wine. Everything fit together the food,... More

We went with friends who just arrived on Ryanair so anything would have been welcome. Beautiful garden which we were left to look at a little too long before we were asked if we wanted a drink and even longer to see the menu. we settled on a set menu. The food was exceptional, a great picture and wonderful mixes... More

This was our second visit to "Alexandre", we went there seven years ago, the year when Michel Kayser was to earn his second Michelin star. We were curious if things had changed since 2006: They did and they did not. The food might have a little more rafinesse overall and more elegance in presentation, but the style of the restaurant... The garden is divine, but the food just magical - elegant and refined, but oddly not pretentious - the combinations of flavours are classic, though expressed in chic modern ways. We really loved our dinner, and it was a perfect, quite relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Probably best meal we had on recent trip to France. We went with the degustation menu and the first 2 courses in particular - beef tartare and chef's take on bouillabaisse were standouts. Restaurant is set in beautiful gardens
