We'd searched high and low to find this place and eventually stumbled across it after giving up. My expectations were high for a good quality local dinner and the setting and surroundings were good. With only one waitress though the service was painfully slow - we were waiting over an hour for our main and another hour for our dessert.... More

This is the third time in 4 years we have taken a 'sans enfants' trip to Nimes, to spend a night in a grown-up hotel and go for a nice meal. We have ended up at A la Table du Clair each time - the first, because it was the top-rated on Tripadvisor, and ever since because the food, service... More

We enjoyed our meal in May 2012 at this restaurant. The decor is quiet bizarre but good. It includes large glasses (on some tables) with small fish swimming around. The waitress was lovely and did her very best to describe each course in her broken English. The amuse Bouche on arrival was a small glass with a whipped substance containing fish eggs.... I have to agree that the service here was exceptionally slow, even for a person who has all evening and eats slowly! But was it worth the wait?, --absolutely! Innovative dishes (my appetizer was scallops served with popcorn) and a pleasant outdoor setting. Yes, the waitress did have a bit of an attitude, but she was doing everything all by... More

I had dinner with my fiance on Saturday 15 October 2011. The food was nice but the service is too slow. There is only one waitress for the whole restaurant. We ordered entree and main course so 2 dishes and we stayed almost 2,5 hours in the restaurant. When we questioned the waitress she said that she felt that she... More

We had a beautiful meal, fantastically presented but it took over three hours. If you go ask first how busy the kitchen is.

An excellent meal, beautifully presented and a friendly host. Good value for money, too.

We ate here in September 2008. It was memorable for all the right reasons; decor, staff, food. The amuse-bouche we got on arrival was worth the visit on its own. More expensive than the other Esclafidous restaurants (we had a flat there, so we tried, and would recommend, them all), but it justified the prices.

A really innovative restaurant which serves ecclectic French food in a very artsy way. I strongly recommend and the service was personal and excellent. Great value too.
