Homely little restaurant looking for an almost achieved balance between feeling at home and unexpected dining. A two or three couses menu is offered with a resonably wide choice: I ate a salmon starter, a wonderful duck breast with goat cheese and a stunning white chocolate and raspberry dessert! Few places, so think of booking in advance! Pros: inventive interpretation... More

Our only night in Montpellier was made even better by this awesome little restaurant, we managed to get the last table outside and was greeted by 2 lovely waitresses who did their best to speak english which was greatly appreciated, the meals were amazing and well worth the price, we would definitely return here if we were to return to... I wanted a great French meal on la fete nationale and La Cocotte did not disappoint. The menu was creative, the service was attentive, the setting was inspiring and the food, delicious. It was midday on the holiday so I had no problem getting a table outside. (Just be aware that Mother Nature's trees are reproducing so there are buds... More

WOW! - Best restaurant we ate in the whole week we were in Montpellier with delicious French flavours. A busy Saturday night but we managed to squeeze onto a table inside. Wonderful atmosphere both inside and outside on the square, helpful waitress and YUMMY food. The mini ravioli and the savoury Tirimisu (moose/cheese/tomato layers) starters were FABULOUS taste sensations and... More

My cycling companion and I spent a total of six nights in Montpellier before and after our cycling trip in Languedoc Roussillon and Provence. We had a number of good meals in Montpellier but the best dinner we had was at La Cocotte on our last night. We came across La Cocotte quite by accident, read and were intrigued by... More

Wonderful ambiance, great service and above average food for Montpellier (not the citadel of haute cuisine in France). Would happily return. Be sure to book in advance; the restaurant is tiny.

Great hearty but not heavy food. Appealed to both young hipsters and families. The menu was not available in English, but out daughter was able to translate.

We accidentally came across this restaurant whilst walking around Montpellier trying to find a nice looking restaurant that may serve at least one vegetarian meal! I am so glad we found it as it turned out to be the best meal we had in Montpellier! We were seated outside on the square, and the staff were very friendly and attentive... More

Nice restaurant, with the terrace outside among the other restaurant around. The menu has several "cocotte" as the name of the restaurant. We tok the 3 course menu which was definitely enough food. There was many new meals in à la carte, innovative mix of spices and seasonal ingredients. The mix and the presentation were both inventive and good looking.... More

Ate here on a Thursday night in August; prebooked; table waiting for us outside in the little square. Great food; had the house wine which was very acceptable and the 3 course dinner at 26 euros. service excellent. Would happily return, were there not another 400+ restaurants to explore!
