I put a good review for this Restaurant which had returned to the family of the old owners in May on our last visit. But returned again on our last evening in Collioure and not so good! One of us had the Entrecote Grillee the other the Filet Boeuf, both OK but nothing special but each had an sauce... read more

We stayed 9 days in Collioure and, toward the end of our visit, we noticed this restaurant often had a queue @ 8.30. Usually a good sign. So we dropped-in @ 7.30 that night. And found lots of locals dining - another good sign. Nicely located, friendly and welcoming, we had two great meals. Returned the next night - our... More

During our week in Collioure we ate here twice and both times the food was wonderful and the service friendly and warm. We opted for the 15euro fixed price menu and both of us felt it was fantastic value. The smoked salmon starter was a very generous portion and tasted delicious and the cheese filo pastry starter was also delicious... More

Stopped at L'Amphitryon for lunch. As it's situated away from the harbour it wasn't full of day trippers. We tried the suggestions of Sardines and Moules, both with fries. Lovely fresh food cooked simply. Not cheap but not too expensive either. Service was efficient if not over friendly. Only downside to the experience was when two travelling musicians came into... A wonderful evening at L'Amphitryion, with stunning views over the harbour towards the castle, great service and delicious food and wine. The seafood was fresh, wonderfully cooked, beautifully presented and in a satisfying quantity, and the local wines are a delightful complement. We shall be going back to L'Amphitryon again.

We've looked at this restaurant before so booked a table for lunch. We thought the service was very good and the food was great.Had the Catalonian salad for starter which was excellent.Had the fillet mignon for main which was nice and the creme Catalan for pudding. The portions are big so go in hungry.Lovely views across the bay.

We went here for lunch and it was bad. I had the lobster which was small, overcooked and came with a poor tossed salad that I am sure had a little cry it was so unhappy on the way to the table. Bad balsamic, cheap olive oil. Really? My wife had mussels, and she thought they were ok. Maybe. Actually... More

We visited L'Amphitryon for lunch and based that decision on the fact that it was pretty full and away from the main restaurant area. The €23 menu was great value. After the visit I checked the reviews and was surprised they were so mixed and the overall rating quite low. For price and location I reckon it's hard to beat.

We chose this restaurant for it's position overlooking the little beach and in full evening sun. However, the food was disappointing. I ordered mussels as a starter and more than half were empty and the rest were tiny. I can't remember what the main course was, as I had the set menu at 23 euros, so it can't have been... More
