We were on holiday in Collioure and walked past this restaurant many times. It was always full. We decided to brave taking in our then 7 month old son in a pram through the crowd of lunchers. The staff were extremely helpful and recognised that we were on a tight timeline (our son has a lot less patience than us)... More

We went here twice near the end of our stay in Collioure, for lunch, then back another evening for dinner. The views are stunning and the service and food faultless. It is attached to a hotel where we would stay if we return to this beautiful town.

Had a couple of disappointing experiences in this restaurant a few years ago involving very rude staff and poor overpriced meals so was very reluctant to return. However I am delighted to report that the old management appear to be back (or it might be the daughter of the original owner ? ) and thankfully they have with them a... More

Feeling very upbeat having got probably the last parking place on the beach in Collioure, we wondered if this restaurant would be a tourist trap. Far from it - very fair prices, €15 lunch menu was very acceptable and well presented. The seafood dishes looked wonderful. House wine was fine. The staff were welcoming and the views splendid. The tables... More

This restaurant know how to get the customers in. They provide good food and good, cheerful friendly service. We had Zarzuela for two people - it could have fed four - don't overdo it on the lovely bread that comes first!

Sceptical as we thought perhaps it may be touristy and disappointing but not so. We went for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The outlook was stunning as the sun went down and the lights came on across the bay. My first course of goats cheese warmed in filo pastry on a salad was exceptional. We did not think it... More

Gave this a go as consistently busy and fab view of bay- did not disappoint- great value set menu, delicious food and good service..... A touch heavy on the garlic for me though!

We dined here with friends recently and when we arrived at this pretty village on the coast, which was obviously well visited by tourists and saw that the restaurant had a prime position on the front with views over the bay,I must admit that expectations were not high. Usually we have found that eating somewhere with a 'view' is not... More

Some years ago L'Amphitryon was our favourite!  They had the most delicious seafood and professional and excellent service. Unfortunately, the restaurant changed management and staff, and so did our opinion. The food and service are now both of medium quality, but perhaps it will improve! Tju2013

What a perfect scene: big moon, stunning view of Collioure, gentle waves lapping on the beach. We chose the L'Amphitryon for dinner last night and weren't disappointed, I am happy that we hadn't read the previous review first, because we might not have tried it . In essence the food was delicious and very fresh, the service was attentive. I... More
