Fantastic food

Ended up here as the restaurant at our hotel was fully booked (Hotel de la Cite) but I'm glad it was as the food, drink and service were all amazing. The duck foie gras and the cassoulet were both excellent and although the wine wasn't cheap it was equally as good.

We went to Compte Roger on the recommendation of the reception staff at Hotel de la Cite . The food was very interesting and very tasty indeed with plenty of local produce on offer.

We stumbled across it unexpectedly upon deciding not to dine at Le Barbacane due to ridiculous prices. The ambience was amazing with exceptional service which started upon entry into the venue. The food was Divine and delicious. It's a gastronomic experience not to be missed. We highly recommend this place for a 5 star experience!

We had a nice meal here in mid-October and Carcassonne was very quiet - as was the restaurant. However, the quality of the food and it's presentation were very good and more than made up for the lack of "buzz" you nomally get in a good restaurant . The wine is a bit expensive and this added considerably to the... More

There are lots of good restaurants in the Old City, serving local food at decent prices. You can pay your money and take your pick! But one stands head and shoulders above the rest in our opinion. It was recommended by friends who've lived in the town for five years - and they were right! The advice from the knowledgeable... More

A very good little restaurant in the ancient citadel itself. Partner and I ate here on a Tuesday evening and enjoyed scallop mousseline, guinea fowl and wonderful fish. The restaurant has comfortable chairs and simple, modern decor, with great, unfussy service. The food is really well cooked and imaginatively presented and the wine list is well considered with lots of... More

Service and food are excellent her, and the extensive wine list is fairly priced. I enjoyed a starter of pate, a distinctive and ample cassoulet, and cheeses for dessert. My wife equally enjoyed her starter of snails, plate of duck breast, and fruit tart for dessert. A truly enjoyable meal.

Maybe a little more formal and modern in the interior than one might like, but the weather was no good enough to be outside. Food was really excellent quality and worth the premium price

Food is ok, you can't take that away from them and the outside porch is lovely, but one needs more to enjoy a dinner. Comte roger flunked in service. This was un-attentive, slow, careless and some more adjectives you can fill in yourself...They simply seemed to not give a ---- and not care if you enjoy your evening or not,... More
