An oasis of calm in a medieval town overrun with tourists! We had lunch on the terrace, which is very relaxing, especially with a glass of rose in hand. Food was excellent and the service was very friendly. The children's main course of fish was also noted as being particularly good.

Excellent food in a very nice setting for a very good price. The owner chef is present at the tables and is very generous of his time. He gave us a cassoulet crash course which we really enjoyed. The service was efficient as they understood we had children. In the city of carcassonne, if you want a meal that is... More

Make sure you book a day or so ahead as this restaurants reputation makes it fill up fast. We had the daily menu at €40. Turned out be amazing value. Beautifully presented food, best meal of the 5 day stay (apart from La Barbacane but thats a different league). Fantastic lit courtyard, sheltered but open. Lovely duck and monkfish mains... More

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Comte Roger. Carcasonne is inundated with tourists and souvenir shops- a world heritage sight and a remarkable medieval city. Eating at Le Compte Roger was a perfect break from wandering streets crowded with tourists. The food was superb and the staff were delightful. We were even included in a celebration with the owners/staff... More

My partner and myself felt well looked after and treated at this restaurant. The food was incredible and artistically put together. I strongly recommend.

We booked several weeks in advance and had a copy of the email confirmation but they said they didn't have our reservation in a very off-hand manner, however we were given a table grudgingly. The table was too low for the seating so we asked to move to another table only to be told that was reserved! It probably was... More

Our reservation was handled efficiently. On arrival, we were greeted rather casually and directed to a table which was covered by bits falling from an overhanging tree. Clearly an attempt to fill up the less preferred table first. We noticed that people who arrived after us were directed to the same table, there was no effort to clean or protect... More

A 50th birthday meal that will be remembered. Beautiful setting, seated outside in mild June evening. A short menu, but a challenge to select as all looked perfect....and it was (we all chose different meals). Great to be served in French language too! So much more fun. The staff made the birthday girl feel special without causing major embarrassment or... More

Food was of high standard, but head waiter was very offhand & unwelcoming. Got the impression only French customers were welcome. No atmosphere. One to avoid.
