Our Hotel recommended this restaurant and after reading the reviews we decided to go. Firstly we ordered two G&T's, we then had a starter and a main course each accompanied with a bottle of wine and a bottle of mineral water. The service was very average, we couldn't get the attention of the waiter when we were ready for the... More

We had been here previously, about four years ago, and I suspect that the restaurant is now under new ownership. It was nearly empty on a Wednesday lunchtime and the only other clients appeared to be tourists. The food in my opinion was dull and overpriced. There is a nice terrace but on the day we went it was horrid weather, so... More

A great restaurant with nice atmosphere, serving inventive modern French food. Asparagus with scrambled egg was sublime, with a tomato tart and mint sauce garnish working well together. Whiting terrine with chopped whelks (translated on the menu as 'sea slugs'!) was a combination of light and delicate mousse with earthy seafood and was excellent. The duck breast with honey polenta... More

My wife and i dined at this restaurant one evening during a four day visit to Carcassonne. We chose a la carte rather than the fixed menu as there were dishes there that particularly attracted us. The food was first class, absolutely delicious. The wine was excellent and relatively inexpensive. The service was friendly and efficient. Our bill was 135... More

We've been on it for a long time and hope never to achieve our goal so that we can keep hunting. The standard, however, has been set. The version served at Comte Roger was superb. Everything from the beans to the sausage and the crisped confit de canard met every expectation. And, the addition of a bit of red wine... More

Carcassonne is full of culinary tourist traps. This restaurant is a rare exception. The menu offers a nice but limited choice of dishes inspired by the local culinary tradition and local produce, but presented with a more modern twist. The local wines on the list are perfectly complementing these dishes. Although Veuve Clicquot Champagne is prominently advertised on the tables,... More

We ate dinner here and the modern clean decor was a nice contrast with the excess touristic elements in this town. Food was well prepared and served at a nice pace, and the wine markup was not excessive for the calibre of restaurant - a good list of locals too. I had the asparagus starter - which was beautiful -... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant during a weekend in Carcassonne. The food was incredible. Great presentation. Beautiful sauces. My husband had veal sweetbread, which he has not stopped talking about ever since. An excellent bottle of wine recommended by the staff rounded off an excellent evening. The only downside is that it's rather expensive. But then you... More

This restaurant is away from the tourist crowds. It serves fine food and provides excellent service. Restaurant is modern which is quite a contrast compared to the Reston the town but is cozy and good ambiance. Try the pumpin soup with foie gras which is superb. Perfect winter dish.

On a cold January night, this restaurant's decor may be modern vs 'castle-cozy' - but the food and service will warm you up and make you happy you ate here. We were quickly passing forks amongst our group and arguing over who ordered the best choice! Great, local, wines are delicious and a bargain!
